Any chance I get to listen to any of you guys give Murph shit on Tool of the Week? We really should have organized another one of those all out blitz calls from us where every tool of the week was Murph. Any takers for today? |

Go for it. I'm sure it will be between Murph and Mully unless Murph orders the producer not to take calls on him. How was transition today? I missed it. Still tense or did they fake getting along. |

Still tense or did they fake getting along. Unfortunately I caught the tail end of it. Mulli didn't excited about promo'ing Murph's show coming up next. I'm at work so I can't participate. I just wanted to know if I would be hearing any of you guys. |

Pretty sure you wouldn't get through. And if you did, all the listener would hear is a quick silence at the beginning of the call and then, "Thanks for the call!" from Murph. |

(s)Murf opened with his usual disingenuous "There's nothing left to talk about... you guys covered it all. Hanley was his usual oblivious self, acting as if it was just another day. Mully was cordial but you could hear a bit of an icy edge in his voice. |

My impression of transition was Murph trying to do a monologue. He basically took over the entire 5 minutes (or whatever it is) and barely let Mully and Hanley get a word in edgewise. He spent an inordinate amount of time complaining about how his morning coffee cost $1.51 and if the shhop would just raise the price by a penny, he could get 2 quarters back. |

Makes sense in context but has always puzzled me. Anyways, back to our regularly scheduled thread. I'm going to try to get on Tool of the Week right now. |

I checked for a specific etymology however there doesn't seem to be one but this definition from Word Reference should be sufficient edgewise A adverb 1 edgeways, edgewise with the edge forward or on, by, or toward the edge; "he sawed the board edgeways"; "held it edgewise" 2 edgewise, edgeways as if by an edge; barely; "I could not get a word in edgewise" |

Thanks, Cooler mystery solved. I can now use my insignificant brain power towards other stupid thoughts. Wasn't able to get on Tool of the Week this time. Oh well. |

Don't worry Hawkeye. Murph's bound to do something stupid in the next 7 days that will qualify him for next week's tool of the week. |

I called in but wasn't able to get on (I even bought a calling card so I could sit on hold as long as necessary ) However since I'm sure Sy or someone from the show does read this board I'll just post it here (yes I wrote it down) Murf, you're my nominee. Not only for the Jessie Rogers style oxymoronic statement "Face-to-face over the phone" but because you blasted Mully for taking it public and then turned around and brought it up on a 50,000 watt radio station. |

He was right about Mitch tho and that new Mitch ad about the getting along/fighting, very lame. The whole 'thanks for listening' line is a real turn off for me |
