This show has turned into the pappy is pissed off that the show sucks and is starting to play the blame game. Today he took a few shots, one at Terry Savage for missing so many shows. Yes, she has, but this shows what she thinks about the Monster and Money, not much because she rather go elsewhere then be stuck next to Norths dumb-ass. It sucks more when she is gone because they have no choice but to let North talk more and spread his idiotic thoughts he calls “street smart”. Then to tell Susan Carlson he can teach her a few things about TV is just beyond arrogant. Two things, she has been in TV longer then him, the other thing is she has one of those fancy college degree things he finds unnecessary.

Also, taking shots at CBS for not understanding the direction he wanted the show to go goes to a all new level of stupid. They were the only ones dumb enough to take him and yet, he reverts back to his screaming over people to make a uneducated point and to deflect the fact he has no valid point at all.

Pappy is beyond help, people have tried, but his failures are only on him, CBS pushed this program and because he is a one trick pony, he wasn’t able to make it work, meaning he doesn’t have the talent or smarts to go beyond his good fella wannabe act.

If/when this show is cancelled, CBS Management deserves the blame. Whoever thought this was a good idea should be fired immediately. As for North, his act is old, and has been old. His only chance at some level of success is get back to talking sports - I was never much of a fan, and it seems that he lost interest in talking just sports about 5 years ago, but I know I certainly could care less what his opinion is on anything non-sports related (and, I actually could care less what he has to say about sports as well).

gotta agree that the cbs exec who greenlighted this piece of garbage needs to go. how could you watch the comcast abortion and conclude that nort should be the center piece of a morning tv show. looking at snippets on cbs2 website, the show has norts dumb bits all thru it like the betting segment and the guess the celeb age. next step for mikey is cable access station where he pays to be on the air. i would think jiggs would use his harvard education and be smart enough to stop following nort around. the monsters idea is no more. it might have worked in 1992-94 but it is a disaster today.

It seems the blitz of commercials has subsided also. That could have been the last chance for this POS show. I wold look for an announcement in the next few weeks about a revamp or cancellation.

I hope you're wrong. I think he has to go back to the internet jet, since it's free.

We are weeks away from a possible Jen reunion and daily Youtube updates on what's going on with cartwheels and weird facial expressions. Make it happen.

I wore my Chicago Sports Webio hat to the Cubs game this week.

Not one comment. I was very disappointed.

He has to look at the radio-TV market and realistically figure out if there is a place for him....REALISTICALLY...not his bullshit ego...the Town gets along quite nicely without him, as do his former employers, WSCR and Comcast....

He seriously ought to put his money in a bar-restaurant....

AM1000 is getting their ass kicked by WSCR all day with the exception of afternoons.
I still think that at some point, North will end up on AM1000.

I dont see him ending up on the radio because he honestly thinks someone is going to offer him a mill a year and he wont take anything less then that because his ego wont allow it.

someone needs to sit the idiot down and explain to him that his last big contract was a fricken mistake and to be happy with whatever anyone offers him.

my guess webio 2 wont happen because no one will trust him.

Mike North's ratings are up for the 6-7 hr. Remember Happy Days fired Chuck after the first season and the show took off. CBS might give Savage the ax and this show might succeed.

I think the show would do much better if they shit canned North and let jiggs and Terry run the show. North is the reason the ratings suck. He's a low rent POS and it shows.

This.
From what I have seen of the show, North adds nothing. His yelling, interrupting and rambling on actually detracts from the show. PTFB for me.

You are right is numbers are up, and the Savage thing could happen by Monday, North should go back to being himself, tell it like it is type guy, yes the people will hate him,and more people will like him, more will tune to hear his rants and raves, its a good thing, after all he is a Chicago Icon

That doesn't mean anything. CBS owns WSCR & many of the commercials on the Score are the very definition of uncouth.

Post subject:  Re: Pappy's blame game starts.

Jiggs is well-enough suited for staying on at Monsters & Money.

I predict North will find another venue. Doing what? Selling content, a la a syndicated talk show. Consider how much staff it takes for a talk radio station now (hell, look at the Score!) and project that out onto the current environment of consolidating hosts, ... It's perfect for him, and allows him to wheel and deal (which is why he's not going to go to any radio station like espn or the score -- the opportunities for him at those places have set sail, IMO)

So, a) Jiggs might've needed a Monsters relaunch, but we've seen how well that's worked at Comcast/Webio and this CBS morning deal. But I think he could stay there on his own with Savage and whomever,
b) I don't see North's outrageous, blah-blah personality translating into leaps of ratings. Maybe Spada's aware of shit we're not...

norths 6-7 ratings might be up, but they are still in dead last. Look, savage is a money expert, jigs can handle both sports and money, the creepy guy has a good handle on the news and norths main role is to give easy ass picks and a quick comment on the games from the previous day.......i can get a 6 yea old to do that. north has maybe 15 inutes of input on a 2 hour show, the writing is on the wall.

Define "ratings are up". I assume you mean over the show's first hour, which probably also means that the first hour of the show is continuing to be pretty low. So, if the "rating are up", what does that mean - from almost nobody is watching to just about nobody is watching?

You are absolutely correct. they got a little, very little, bounce from the saturation of commercials. It won't last as people see what a shitfest it is with north.
