is Larry Holmes Obviously its personal preference, but there are reasons behind my opinion Danny Mac Show- Good Show. Not great. MJH was better. Its fine. I laugh a little. Meatpants induces a little too often. It doesnt bother me personally, but I can see how the personal stories, grilling etc makes people wanna PTB Boers and Bernstein: Very Good show. Very funny, like TBS. But the achilles heel here is the predictability and repetitive nature of the show. The PTB thing for me here is when they start beating a topic to death, which happens way too often. Maybe Goff needs to help the boys out by giving them a quick "move the fuck on" once in a while. Mully and Hanley: Not good. There not even vanilla, theyre Extra Plain Vanilla. Just not my cup of coffee. Jason Goff Show: Best pure show. Relaxed nature, knows enough to speak intelligently on all sports (which is rare). Funny and to me personally it works well being that Goff and I are around the same age. Thats huge with references and such. The problem with Goff is he doesnt really have a show. He needs one. Drinky: He's ok. Kinda like a white uptight version of Goff. Im not trying to be a jerk, but thats how it feels. Like he's trying to be too proffessional. I like the content of his show but he needs to relax a bit IMO. Les Grobstein: Meh. Its fine. Its pretty entertaining if Im really drunk or on a "this is what radio in the 80's sounded like" kind of way. But overall its average. and then there's Larry Larry's show is ALL good. There isnt anything that makes me punch the button. The unintentional comedy is thru the fuckin roof. Whether its Larry playing the tough guy Larry talking about his mom like most guys talk about their friends Larry misplaying the race card Larry having SHAKE THAT as his theme song. Larry being so easily baited by callers. Larry's akwardness in talking about ladies Larry being called a great man by callers Larry presenting his nerd tendencies (coimic books etc) as "cool" Its all funny in one way or another. And Larry does know sports. He's actually pretty knowlegdeable. Im not saying he's brilliant or right a lot of the time, just that he knows enough to get by, enough for a host. Im sure there are some bad things about Larry's show, but none of them make me wanna change the channel SHAKE THAT |

Open to the challenge, LoHo? He has the "People's Hour". Always kinda wondered why he doesn't get on here with "The People". |

Maybe it's just the time of day but there is just something about the LoHo show that I enjoy. I think for all the reasons that RPB lists. A lot of strange and funny things tend to happen. |

I don't think I can get "Dr. Ken's The People's Hour Colon We Do What We Want" into a thread title. Maybe that was his plan? |

The People's Hour Colon We Do What We Want = Hilarity one way or the other Also love how he teases that and the Subliminal song like he's giving away the winning lottery numbers ahead of time. |

Even the transition with B&B is priceless. SHAKE THAT doing his very best to impress Bernstein. It's even better when he thinks he has come up with a thought that Dan will agree with only to find that he's way off.... ....Classic SHAKE THAT... |

For the record, when LoHo now does a 4-hour show at night, "The People's Hour: We Do What We Want" actually follows CBS2's Ryan Baker at 9p. Unless it has to do with the fact 670 The SCORE is owned by CBS, why does LoHo check in with Ryan? Despite the fact CBS has prime time's #1 network lineup, is anyone aware that Chicagoans change the channel come 10p and don't even bother watching CBS2 for news anymore? Here's another thing...Memo to LoHo's production staff: NO ONE WANTS TO HEAR RYAN's COUGH EITHER!!! |

Laurence told me he no longer reads the board. Ironically, he was one of the first people to mention it on the air and said "IT IS A GREAT IDEA, GOOD JOB TO WHOEVER DID IT" |

He reads it. |

They're both very anti computer. I've heard it from a few people. But I'm sure it's not as bad as he lets on. I just don't see him reading the board. I don't want him to. It would be strange... |

rogers park bryan wrote: I think Boers does read it. The cant use a computer thing is part of the act. Yeah, I would agree with that. Speaking of the act, I don't really mind it. bernstein teeing up callers can be very entertaining. I do wonder if it ever occurs to him that he has every advantage in these "confrontations": pro broadcaster vs. nervous caller, ability to hang up at any time, etc. He's not smarter than everyone else. My biggest problem with the act is that it has spawned so many lesser versions. It's like Eddie Van Halen. One guy putting both hands on the neck was innovative. A thousand guys doing the same is just fucking boring. |

I'm not interested in the horse racing stuff (nor do I understand his version of "Larry Horse." Did he name a horse Larry at one time?) but I do like his show in general, especially the Match Game segments. That was one of my all-time favorite shows and I love the music. Some of the contestants are pretty clueless, though, but what do you want at 2:30 AM? I used to be a BIG FAN of All Night with Todd Wright until the mouse booted him off the air for. I know he's on Sporting News Radio now, SHARK, so stuff a sock in it. His replacement, Jason Smith, does nothing for me. David Stein's positive show usually had the opposite effect on me and made me want to hang myself. |

Anytime I am driving somewhere late at night and flip on the channel and hear the match game music I am locked into listening to the whole segment. It is very Zen like and mezmerizing. I enjoy it wholeheartedly. |
