What are the thoughts on this show, I think it is a nice option to Farmio and singleton. They are pretty good, and nice to listen to, Mongo has some priceless comments throughout the show. I think Spaceball did a good job putting these three together.

Sucks. Doesn't matter much what they put on during baseball season since nobody is listening anyway. I think this show only goes until 10 so on most nights they can't even do a post game show of the Sox and Cubs.

Couldn't agree more, Nas.

The show would be more entertaining if they had drops of Mongo (or Harry's Bongo for that matter) instead of the real deal. Mongo would be a good add for 1 or 2 nights a week during FB season. Maybe have him be part of a Wrestlemaniacs type segment too, but let JD and Hood develop some chemistry.

I also hope that JD and Hood get some Saturday NCCA FB duties as well, or Hood and Silverman.

Mongo's a great character, but he's not nearly as well rounded as he needs to be to be a 3rd man in on a nightly show.

I would go with Hood and Silverman. No two are better at covering college football.

I agree, that was a good background show while doing domestic things on a Saturday. Was Spaceball at WSCR when that show started. If he was then maybe he will bring it back. I hope so.

This show makes me wish NFL Live with Doug Buffone was still on.

Jeff Dickerson has to be the most curiously overrated talk show host in the city. Utterly vacuous....

Someone else on this board said he combined the speech patterns of Jim Rome with the thoughts of Jesse Rogers... I can't say it better myself: "What a take. Phenomenal. Rack it."

Hood talks without really saying anything. JD as I've said before is like a used car salesman plus he is very robotic.

I agree that the Saturday afternoon college football show was excellent. However, ESPN's national show was also very good. Either way one station in this city will have comprehensive coverage of college football....the other will cover NIU.

JD and Hood were at their best on Sat. night. JD was so pissed about the Bear's pick and you knew it. He displayed the most emotion ever that one night.

JD isn't bad for being an evening or weekend host, but I do agree, he does seem a bit robotic.

I don't listen to it, but like it better than I used to because Mongo actually knows what's going on in other areas of sports other than football. I thought he'd just bring stories and the usual and not come prepared

Now that Silvy and Carmen are headed to evenings, it looks like the JD, Hood, and Mongo Show is no longer.

I hope they seriously consider getting rid of the Jim Rome replay and replacing him with J. Hood from 10p - 1a. Hood is one of the few people who is better by himself than with a partner, and would be a definite upgrade from Rome. JD can stick to covering the Bears and hosting weekend shows, and Mongo can go back into hibernation until the football season starts.

So what does happen with Dickerson and Hood ? You'd figure Hood would host weekend shows, but Dickerson seems to be left without a show (unless he's also on weekends), which is a bit surprising because Mac loves him.

Usually he didnt come prepared, running on old stories, and as the wildcard he was the best part of that show. Mongo rules. If Spaceballs had more time, this show would have been a better 9AM repacement. Or just add Mongo to Silvy & Carmen.

What happened to JD Hood and Mongo? No press release on them, only on salsbury, silvy n carmen. Were they axed?

I've heard JD doing updates, and Hood has 2 hours on Saturday afternoon. Not sure what happened to Mongo.

Hood and Mongo were broadcasting live this weekend from some bar in Lake Villa, or Lake Bluff or Lake Placid or something...

JD hosts Baseball 365 now with Bruce. Originally the show was hosted by Dolgin with Bruce. DeFalco hosts the Sunday Talk Baseball show.

I asked Mongo about his future with ESPN a couple weeks ago and he was like, "who?"

"ESPNRadio 1000 Mongo?"

"Oh yea...phssht. I don't need them. I'm fine. I wouldn't mind wrasslin' again!"

Obviously he was joking but there were no tears shed over this

If these three never do a show together again, we all benefit.
