I'd like to hear a Goff/Hood show

Being a pain in the ass employee is why J Hood's career is in the toilet. The guy was so unprofessional when disgruntled regarding Telander that it's a sign this guy is more trouble that he is worth whatever he may bring on the air.

I don't know what's worse:

You thinking J Hood was unprofessional handling a guy who quit mid-shift, or Scorehead thinking Murph actually is good on the radio.

Telander deserved to be treated like garbage, as the man treated both the listeners and his coworkers like garbage. He couldn't handle dealing with the "common" fan; so he took and had "HIS" rules (no nicknames when someone called in, couldn't be bothered to listen to the topic being discussed, and is a complete jock suck who has clung to living next to Halas Hall as grounds to be considered a "good" sports reporter for 20+ years.)

As far as Murph? Sorry, his time has passed. Guys like Boers, North, and Murphy are put out to pasture for a reason. Uncle Terry just hasn't been let go yet.

Best host in the city, been saying this for years..something obviously happened behind the scenes to get blackballed.

It was on the air daily, not really behind the scenes. He shit on Telander daily. Actually became uncomfortable radio.

And there is no doubt that Hood is a much better host and could have done a better job alone, but thats not the job he was given. Simple, he blew it.

J Hood is great. He is one of my favorite sports guys in Chicago.

Don't do that. Scorehead has a history. Long before you got here, he posted some Elmhurst Steve-ian thoughts.

I'm certainly not a fan of Telander but that doesn't stop me from appreciating his skill as a writer, something that is sorely lacking from Chicago's sports pages these days. His Baby Boomer penchant for seeing sports as a metaphor for or reflection of society at large aside, there's no doubt the man can write. That he's been allowed to indulge himself by writing about such things as his daughter's Dartmouth swimming team is something that should be laid at the feet of his editors.

Telander can be a skilled writer, but I can't pretend that Rick Telander's Fear Of The Impending Robot Apocalypse isn't a hilarious meme. He's done it twice now!

For as much as bernstein mocked that idea, isn't that really what he wants from athletes? "Just catch passes." Couldn't robots do that better than humans? If we shouldn't care about anything that athletes do other than on the field as bernstein constantly suggests, aren't we better served with robots?

Dan only wants players to be positive-outcome-producing robots when their humanity tediously dominates a news cycle or when they are Cubs/Blackhawks. If they're seven-foot, bus-riding never-weres who need to be protected from nonexistent allegations of "thuggery," then they're really interesting people.
