This guy should have thought twice before he started big timing the World.
He's the guy who won the lottery, had the world by the short hairs...and wound up back in the trailer park.
Wonder if Chet Coppock is still in awe of this Senn dropout's financial acumen???

I'm pretty sure that North has made at least 15 X as much money as you have. What does that say about your "financial acumen"?

It's really the truth. He did a good job for a long time of remaining the regular guy. I think when he and Jiggs got their first consideration from WFAN he threw that out the window....which resulted in tearing up the golden era of the SCORE, his going solo, his undertaking production duties etc. This is what has led to his demise.

I like Mike. I think Mike can be entertaining. He has lost his way/

I think it would do Mike good to see your comment here, GD. Some introspection would go a long way for him. Maybe I can suggest stagecoach point him to this...as long as he doesn't post anything.

Stagecoach is a good man as well. He was just being overprotective.

Bigfan and I have been saying this for a very long time, give him a strong and independant producer and a co host on equal billing and Mike's star can rise again.

Mike North and Jay Hood with Jesse as the producer is a winning formula in my opinion...but Jesse's wife doesn't want to tell her friends she's married to a producer, so he will remain a hockey "expert".

Mike was warned about going "bigtime" ten years ago. he didn't want to hear it then, and probably not now either. He may have to end up face down in the gutter before he wakes up.

I forgot how big North's contract was, needless to say he made millions.
He then perceived a paycut to 600 grand a year as an insult.
The fact he walked away from that kind of dough still amazes me.

How much do you think he made on his one year deals at CBS 2 and Comcast. No way it was more than 75k at each stop. Maybe not even that much. They were both trial runs to see how things go before they got huge deals. CBS 2 had 6 on air people if you count the weather and traffic girls. All of them got a little meaning nobody got a lot. Comcast Sportsnet didn't have any money. North though he'd sell his own ads which failed. The only big money was "Next Step" and they never saw that money for obvious reasons.

He still has to be kicking himself for turning down that SCORE offer.

He'd probably still say that it was the right thing to do, considering his stubborness.

His stubbornness got him into the biz, but was ultimately his undoing.

No, he's not kicking himself at all.

The Score's offer, unlike their previous contracts, was not guaranteed. He was able to say, " I left on my own" rather than being fired. Better for his future prospects he figured.

Doesn't matter. I'm sure they would have given him at least one more year. That would have been more money than he's made in the two years since he left. Hell, if he was just at the SCORE for 6 months more it would have been a lot of money.

Good for him. He did it "his way" by leaving the SCORE. For what? To have CBS 2 and Comcast do it "their way" by firing him after less than a year at each stop.

Pappy: Da Summer wind, came blowing in...and CBS 2 Fired me!!!! Dey did it dare wayyyyyyyyy!!!

While I dont think Mike is holding any garage sales, he doesn't have "F U" Money anymore, that much I feel pretty good about. Buying a new house , land and Vegas condos, aren't cheap. Uncle Sam takes a nice chunk as well, plus the last 2 years havent been money makers as much as they have been money pits. So it wasn;t like he was sitting around counting his cash. He was spending his cash on his dream projects. 9DONT FADE ME.com)

Has he been cleared in the Webio thing yet?

It's sad that we have to judge people by FU money but guess that's the way it is and always will be
