It's just obnoxious. In particular the guy from the business or whoever he is.

That thread is more of what the outtakes of the commercial were doing on B&B. There was little discussion of why the commercial is obnoxious.

Just amazed a guy that cuts hair can advertise on 10 radio stations.

Do the stylists suck the chrome off your bumper during the shampoo????
It is almost what they are hinting around at in some of these spots!!!!

Most of them look like they would if they got more of a tip for it.

I can honestly say that the haircut itself isn't bad for 10 bucks.

I suppose the next obvious question is how does it compare to Sport Clips? They're apparently trying to buy new business from them if they're charging $10 for a cut and (apparently) $1 for the shampoo dealie.

I think the cut is better at this place. I wasn't that impressed with Sport Clips. At Sport Clips, they charge 16 or 17 for just the cut and shampoo, you can get the shoulder massage crap for an extra 6 bucks.

This place is $10 for a haircut, $2 for the shampoo. Part of the deal with the haircut is a neck shave.

Maybe the place is really called Madame Jane's and the hair cut thing is just a front.

Then they would be a sponsor on the North-Jiggetts Sun Times Paid Advertisement.

Hey, a handjob during the shampoo would definitely have them making money hand-over-fist.

I'm sure any garden or flower shop could help you score one.

A phrase that needs to be deleted from the language yesterday. Maybe put it on Terry's bus.

If you're not absolutely in love with your current hair care professional (which the B&B show taught me will likely exclude The Lodge from further reading), you might consider giving this joint a try.

I have to assume that the $10 cut is a limited-time offer as I doubt it's a viable price long-term, so there's that going for it.

The one in Nippleville looks not unlike the views you see on their website, except they have a pool table instead of a foosball machine. Oddly, they had a number of HD monitors (+/- 27") but none were tuned to a HD channel. :?

Regardless, you walk in and an imp behind a counter says hello and the other people say hello ... you walk up to the imp's counter and there's a keyboard and monitor ... you click if you're new or returning, enter your name and then can either select the "First Available" lady or choose who you want by picture.

Regardless, from there it's a reimagined but similar experience not unlike one gets at Sport Clips (sadly, no offer for a handjob as I had hoped). :P

As far as the shampoo goes, they stand to the side instead of behind, and they wash/massage twice, and I found it more comfortable to lay back into their basin as opposed to the sinks @ Sport Clips.

As far as the neck shave goes, they go get a hot towel, place it on your neck and give it a bit of a polite kneading, then go fetch some shaving foam, then whip out a proper safety razor and, obviously, shave your neck. No, there is no face shaving available; that would require a real straight-razor and only licensed barbers get to do that since they go to school one year longer than a cosmetologist (I was curious ... blow me). Afterwards, a nice dashing of cooling talcum powder.

I did find it slightly odd that she had to go elsewhere to fetch each item rather than having these things handy at each station, but then again I'm German and scrutinize everything for the strictest in efficiency which is a big pain in the ass to me and a much bigger one to everyone else.

The nice lady actually used scissors to trim my eyebrows rather than the typical comb and clipper (or trimmer ... apparently clippers and trimmers are two different things ... again, I was curious ... continue blowing me).

Anyway, with the current pricing, $15 gives you a cut, neck shave, 2x shampoo, product if you like, a nice blowdry finish, and $3 left for tip.

As an aside, I thought the wash was supposed to be free on Sundays, which is why I went today - concurrently, I thought there would be a number of cats in there checking the place out with the two major area fanbases' teams not playing today - I was one of only 3 patrons during my time there.

In closing, blow me one last time. Thank you.

Is it common for a person cutting your hair to offer to trim your eyebrows? I've never heard of that before.

Bill Jauss should stroll in there sometime.

Crotchety old men generally don't have to ask, it's fairly apparent if they need attention. OTOH, eyebrow trimming has happened both with and without my request on different occasions.

A reasonable take on it might be that they are just being conscientious in making sure everything hair-related (with a nod to decency) is addressed. A slightly more cynical view would be it's part of the business model insofar as guys might shy away from asking for "help" with facial hair trimmings of some or all kinds, so the employee is trained to broach the topic or perhaps just perform the "help" without saying anything assuming the customer will be appreciative of the discretion.

If Jauss strolls into anyplace, I just hope a camera is there because that would be some news right there.

Bill Jauss is dead? I know Bill Gleason died not too long ago but I couldn't find anything saying Jauss died (I checked before my previous post...but maybe not thoroughly enough).

Well I guess I'm a dumbass .... I thought he croaked some time ago. For some reason, I thought Telander was the only OG left.
