I'm putting it here because he's a contributor, but Cowley seems to be hinting that he will be switching to the Cubs beat for the Sun Times next year (on Twitter)

That wouldn't surprise me, seeing that Kenny hates the guy.

Here's the quote:

Cowley on Twitter wrote:
I'm not dying people ... I know, some of you are upset with that news ... I'm just spreading some Cowley love to both sides of town.

Wow, you think the mgmt of the Sock shut him out? He has a long, well documented, track record of Cub bashing.

I can't stand Cowley. Hell, I wouldn't piss on his head if it was on fire.

I would just as soon he find a new town to work in. I cannot stand the dude and do not want him anywhere near the Cubs

Well that's just fucking great. Why not just send over a steaming pile of shit with a digital recorder; it'd have to be at least a little cheaper and you might actually get some good soundbites out of the players.

I don't think seacrest is available.

I don't think I'm crazy about the Cubs having a beat writer that's clearly in business for himself. There's enough drama going on over there. I like Joe as a talk show host, but not a beat writer.

If beat writers had any influence over absolutely anything I would care. But they don't so nor do I. I'll just not be reading his Cubs columns instead of Sox.

I think it's actually more of a general baseball columnist job.

This. The next Joe Cowley column I read will be the first. And I will be just as quick to PTFB anytime a radio station decides to put this clown on the air.

Or clearly in the tank for the other team. If we're still operating under the premise that a beat writer is supposed to cover the team objectively, how can he do that if part of his job description as White Sox Radio Expert has been to take potshots at the Cubs for not being the White Sox and generally slurp everyone involved with the team except Kenny WIlliams? I won't read that shit. I don't want him trying to turn over a new leaf, and I certainly don't want him to reprise the jock-sniffing partisan act for the North Side. Just make him Ranger's full-time co-host or let him work color on the radio, because pissing and moaning about Paulie getting screwed on balls and strikes is his true calling.

Actually Mel, I have enjoyed his writing and insight on the radio, but since the Kenny, Ozzie, Cowley love triangle started, I've had it with him.
