Gail Fischer hosting and totally misses Rock Mamola's name. "Ma'amola"

You go on this show, not for the first time, and the host misses your name. What does that do to your credibility when you don't rank high enough to have the host know your name. Apparently Fischer is not listening to the Joe O & Rock show on Saturday nights.

And wouldn't you think you'd ask how to pronounce a name if you're not sure?

Did anyone hear The SCORE's Laurence Holmes & Joe Ostrowski double team Rock last night?

The look on Rock's face was hilarious when she butchered his name.

It was pretty funny....

I didn't correct her because I wanted to see if she did it again after the 2 interviews where I said my name twice.....

nope.

She's a cool person, but she walked in at 5:28 and I never met her before....it's understandable.

We will have some fun with it tonight on The Joe O And Rock Show!

I can appreciate the situation. I have a last name that often gets mispronounced and I have never really been able to gracefully correct the person who missed it. And I cannot imagine being on TV finding a way to correct the host that they just bombed the name. It happens but perhaps you should have plugged the Joe O & Rock show; maybe if Gail listens she'll get it right next time.

That may not be out of the realm.....according to Holmes the other night, Rock begged to be included among that "Favorite Sports show radio Host" poll on Chicago Now....

Who is Gail Fischer to be mispronouncing anyone's name. She's been in this market for a decade and has zero recognizability working for a station that looks like it broadcasts from Wayne and Garth's basement.

I'll give Gail Fischer the benefit of the doubt on this one...For all I know, she didn't even know that John "Rock" Mamola even has a show Saturday nights with Joe Ostrowski on 670 The SCORE, let alone co-produces "Mully & Hanley in the Morning" during the week. Let's not forget Gail did hard news at CLTV before she shifted full time to sports at Comcast SportsNet and her predecessor, the defunct FOX Sports Chicago. Moment of silence for FOX Sports Chicago please...Thank you.
