I'm sure WGN TV and Radio will do everything possible to make Ron Santo's Funeral a complete and total embarrassment to the entire metropolitan area.
I'm sure Grant DePorter and Dutchie can't wait to open the Santo's restaurant as soon as negotiations with the family are over.

He will be swooping over the procession dropping leaflets.

I just have the sneaking suspicion that based upon WGNs track record with anything to do with the Cubs that this funeral could turn into pure overplayed drama and rob the damned thing of the dignity the guy deserves.
Interviewing sobbing goofs along the procession route is probably on tap.

Gary Meier will start up his "Get Ronny bronzed" bullshit again. Made me wanna puke.

I couldn't agree more I just think they should let the guy go with some quiet dignity instead of making it some sort of spectacle and an excuse to day drink on a Friday. But what do you expect.

How tiresome!
What difference does all this make to you?
Are you the self-proclaimed mayor of Hooterville?

Are you kidding? Bob is more like the loyal opposition in Hooterville. Sort of like the Leon Despres of the Chicago sports world. Jim Belushi is the mayor of Hooterville.

They could carry him across the street after games. It would be like a real life "Weekend at Bernie's".

Great minds think alike. They could also attach a wire to his arm, and Judd could pull the string to have him wave to the crowd during games.

I agree. Many times, I think people take up these "causes" to try and draw attention to themselves or just to see if they actually get something done without really thinking about it. I think Meier was exploiting the situation...and now with santo passing he is sort of sitting back and saying "see...I told you"....like it makes any difference.

Very moving.....Hooterville's version of John John Kennedy saluting the flag draped coffin.

Have random grunts and other noises playing on a loop, and it won't be much different than the last twenty years.

Will this be Hooterville's answer to the New York Thanksgiving Day Parade?
Have people been lining Clark Street all night.
Have the ROOFTOPS been sold out?
