OK I have more time now to elaborate.

I don't like to throw insults at people like that, but this was merely in reply to being told this morning that if I played Major League ball, I'd probably use steroids.

How does one come to that conclusion? Because, I was lectured, everyone cheats, and as further proof, the evidence is in that ballplayers use drugs, so therefore if I was a ballplayer, I'd use drugs.

This is ridiculous, and obviously so to anyone who possesses critical-thinking skills beyond a second-grade level. Firstly, I, like everyone, have opportunities to cheat and steal everyday. And I don't do it. I don't have to become a ballplayer to prove that I don't cheat.

Secondly, no, not everyone cheats. People who have no character cheat. Now, to some people, having character holds no value; which is fine for them. Maybe Jesse is one of those people; I don't know. But I do know cheaters, and every one of them is completely lacking in character, and most of them are failures in life... despite their cheating. I have to say, it's quite a good feeling to be a success in life and to know you don't need to cheat to achieve success. It's not a matter of being on a moral high-horse here, it's just a type of self-security and self-esteem thing that goes along with it... it's hard to explain it to someone who cheats, I suppose.

I was particularly amused at the analogy I heard this morning: Taking steroids is the same as a guy having too many beers and getting behind the wheel. "We all do it, and maybe it's wrong but we're not killing anybody". Well, first of all, yes, people are getting killed by drunk drivers. Second, no, not everybody is doing that. Third, I guess it stands to reason that the personalities at the Score would compare something to drunk driving in order to put it in a positive light. That says a lot about what's going on at that place. It was even claimed that driving 102 mph on the expressway is a "victimless crime".

Having said all that, I'm not even someone who's offended by steroid use in baseball to begin with. Now, I have no desire to be part of it or support it, though. Baseball can clean up or not, it's up to them, but drugged-up monsters just don't do anything for me, personally (just my opinion). But the gist of my point is that it's the utter stupidity of the people who defend all this that is so laughable. These are grown men who haven't learned lessons I learned in my youth (things like the value of character, that actions have consequences, etc.) It's shocking to hear adults who haven't figured these things out yet.

I don't disagree with Jesse here. Yes, there are going to be some who actually understand the health risks of taking steriods/HGH, but if everyone else around you is taking them, there's a good chance that you may take them in order to keep your job.

When this stuff first started coming into the news, it was assumed that only fringe players were taking it in order to get ahead of their competition. Now, we've found that superstars are taking it in order to set records.

Personally, I think at least 50% of players are taking HGH/other substances, and I'm probably low in my estimate.

I do respect a person who is above the pressures of doing those substances, but I think they are in the mimority.

Just my opinion

What percentage do you think take HGH in the NFL? My guess is an easy 85%.

I really don't know.

My thinking is to first establish the minimum % of use, and I think it's at least 50% for all sports.

Now, you say 85%, and I'll just say that I would not be surprised at all if that number were true.

IF we are lucky both Jesse and his hero North will get busted for DUI, hopefully they don't hit anybody. If they are going to continue to drink and drive let's hope all they hit is a telephone pole not a car or pedistrian.

OK, that's probably one of the worst things I've ever heard. WHat the hell is he talking about? F'ing drunk driving is fine? Any respect Ihad for that jackass just went out the door. F him. What a f'ing moron.

The more stuff we hear like this, the more we have to wonder what kind of management the Score has that they allow this stuff on the air. You've got one guy who calls himself drinky. I've only heard him on the air once or twice, but when I did, he was talking about going home intoxicated. What a guy. Admitting on the radio that he committed a felony and then bragging about it. We are all lucky he didn't kill us. If somebody who knows him or works with him could save him from himself, we'd all be better off. You've got another guy in Jesse who now says everybody drives drunk. Maybe in his small corner of the world at the Score, that's true. It's not true in my world...and I suspect in most of yours. Sounds to me like the Chicago PD needs to visit these self-admitted criminal dopes at the Score before they kill somebody with their criminal drunken behavior.

Pappy called into Larry Holmes show while driving after drinking. He admitted on the air the next day. Did a fake apology and joked about it later. Score higher ups do nothing.

I consider football a little different. Like wrestling, I never expected anyone with superhuman body dimensions to be doing it naturally.
