Jeff, I feel like a small circus car laden with a dozen clowns stopped in front of the ESPN studios. Instead of sending the clowns back to the circus, someone gave them microphones and management positions at AM 1000.

Every day this monstrosity of a mid-morning show continues, you lose credibility as a station manager. Every day you keep your top show sidelined you lose credibility. Enough garbage like this and you'll lose advertisers, listenters and a job.

Some suggestions from a listener:

1. Admit you made a big mistake with this mid-morning show. This is not a show that will grow, not a show which will attract new listeners. How much could you be paying Sean? Eat his contract (or find a way to offset it) and move on.

2. I'm not much of a Rosenbloom fan, either. If you have to keep one or the other, keep Rosie (though I'm not sure how he really fits in). Better yet, shitcan him, too.

3. Please go get your hearing checked. You can schedule an appointment at Beltone Hearing Aid Ctr - 2878 N Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, 60618 - (773) 235-8663. I'm worried Space. IIRC, you said something to the effect of liking what you heard from Rosie & Sean's trial during the strange suspension of Silvy & Carm. What did you hear that the rest of us didn't? Do we need testing done or is it just you? My guess - just you.

4. Hire Tommy Williams and Les to do the 10 PM - 5 AM slot, and get local programming back during that period.

5. Find a solid co-host for MJH. Shift J to third chair, and get rid of H. The co-host should be someone who complements Mac, yet can carry the show when Mac's gone (without losing audience).

6. The Dan Patrick show - have some balls and fight to move it (tape delay or stick it on the web only). Start the afternoon show at 2:00, S&C at 6:00, T-Dub 9:00, Grobber at midnight. If you don't fight a bit, corporate won't let you build this station as you need to.

7. You really have to develop a strong bench. OG blew. Hood's OK solo, but has rubbed a number of people the wrong way. Dickerson, and who else?

C Howitt - I agree with most of what you're saying, but in reality, ESPN isn't going to move Patrick from the 12 - 3 shift, or eat Salisbury's contract (which is only a few months old), so keeping that in mind, here is what I suggest:

5 - 9: Mike and Mike - Like Patrick, they're here to stay, like it or not.
9 - 12: Marc Silverman and Sean Salisbury - Just have a feeling Silvy would get more out of Sean than Rosey does.
12 -3 : Dan Patrick
3 - 7: Mac, Jurko, and Harry - If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
7 - 9: Steve Rosenbloom - It seems like a better fit than the afternoon show.
9 - 12: Jonathan Hood - This is the shift where he made a name for himself at the Score.
12 -2: Jim Rome - I'd rather have a live show here (local or national), but ESPN 1000 seems committed to Romey for some reason.
2 -5: Jason Smith - National guy (doesn't matter; nobody's listening at that time anyway).
