I unfortunately had the radio on when I got in my car last night and was subjected to LoHo at his worst.

It was a classic moment of LoHo trying to out-Bernstein Bernstein by playing the adamant contrarian, defender of sensibility in a sea of ignorance.

The problem was that his stance was simply idiotic.

He was saying that he hates it when people start counting down the days until pitchers and catchers report to spring training. Fine to hate it, but he then went on to contend that pitchers and catchers reporting does not mean that spring training is about to begin.

He then called out the Ranger for putting something on his facebook page relating to pitchers and catchers reporting and brought Ranger on the air, telling him that pitchers and catchers reporting has nothing to do with spring training.

Ranger--god bless him--tried to respond, telling little LoHo that pitchers and catchers reporting to spring training does, indeed, signify the beginning of training.

LoHo would have none of it and then launched into Ranger like B&B do to an "idiot" caller, changing the subject, adamantly making Ranger answer questions that really have nothing to do with the issue (at this point LoHo was grilling Ranger on the popularity of Football vs. Baseball in a bizarre non-sequitr).

The whole episode was unprofessional and disrespectful to Ranger. And, above all, made LoHo sound like a complete moron. At least with Bernstein, his non-sequitr, straw man arguments sometimes make sense, even though you can see right through them. LoHo just wound up sounding inane.

Kudos to Ranger for keeping his cool.

Larry and Rangey talking on the radio are why you find pull out car stereos on the side of the road.

First of all Rongey should be paid triple time for having to even discuss that crap with LoHo. I honestly think Larry didn't even accept what he was saying, simply trying to bait meatballs, which is getting really, really old with all the shows.

I just hear Mitch say that Larry is one of the smartest people on radio. Hmmm. So what does that say about Chunga?

!!!! BINGO!!!!!! This is how you know he is willing to replace the guy! Mitch is no fool and when he needs to go overboard to compliment Larry, you know he is looking!

I was surprised he said North was done. Knowing how North is, sometimes it is just not worth the time to rip the guy, as he will effort and spend money to go after you. Usually Mitch plays publicly nice to all.

I get why, since he's an old Loop guy and probably loyal in some sense, but I was a little disappointed that Mitch went so easy on Coppock while explaining to a caller why he'd never have a job at the Score. He said something to the effect of "he's a legend, but gosh, there's just no place to put him!" Come on. If you could have part-time producers and updaters doing four-hour weekend shifts when there's no play-by-play, you could theoretically find a place for Coppock. The reason there's no place for Coppock is because there's no place for virulent antisemites, which is a good thing.
