I thought Mike Murphy filed a lawsuit vs. WSCR 670 The SCORE's parent company CBS Radio when his contract expired... |

He was very anal about his little "comedy" bits. If a caller said "Hey Murph" during his fantastic portrayal of Swami Murph,he would always correct them, saying he was "Swami Murph". After reading (on here somewhere) how he mistreated his producers, good riddance to him even though I loved his Cub banter. |

He suffered a very bad, and hard to explain injury. I'll only say this much. Putting a gerbil in your ass, and trying to get said gerbil to play the bugle while up there, caused Murph an interesting trip to the ER. Best wishes Murph. People did listen!? |

Yes, since his contract, that HE SIGNED mind you, had a no compete clause after it ended. He sat at home, collecting on the contract; then was POed that the same contract that allowed him to be paid while sitting at home had the no-compete clause. Again, this is what you get when you have morons......errrr "just regular guys" as on air personalities. Guys like North and Murph? They think because they can talk about sports, that little things like having a lawyer read the contract first isn't how they do things. |

Crystal Lake Huffy wrote: Last I talked with Fred, he mentioned that Murph was doing fine. Unfortunately, I dont think he will ever work in Chicago sports radio again; though, I know many of the people on this board are fine with that. Never was a fan of Murphy; but in all honesty, he should of replaced Santo in the booth. The ever unflappable Pat Hughes would of lost it within weeks and killed him outright. |
