I am impressed.
So impressed that I am thinking of changing the way I do things.
Last week on my radio show, instead of having Kevin VanDam, the 42-year old winner of the
recent Bassmaster Classic who has over $5-million in career winnings, I should have
had a guy on who stopped fishing 20 to 30 years ago.

How are your ratings at wind? We stopped doing the show there since a lot of the shows do not register arbitron ratings because they fail to generate enough listeners to register an arbitron number.

How were your ratings when you gave up on the score and went to chicagosportswebio instead.

Why don't you sponsor Mike North's web videos now?

David, as you may know. WIND doesn't subscribe to the ratings services. Those stations that do will tell you that weekend numbers are extremely inaccurate.
I do know that when we aired at 8:00 a.m. on Saturdays we were the most listened to show on the station and beat many other stations that were higher in the rankings for other days and time slots.
Since I have moved to the ungodly hour of 5:00 a.m. on Sunday, I obviously have far fewer listeners but make up for it by having The Outdoors Experience radio show available 24/7 at mywebsite - www.oexperience.com .
All I know is that my advertisers are extremely happy with the response they get and the business they receive because they are advertising partners with The Outdoors Experience.
That said....
How are your numbers at TalkZone? I approached them a couple of years back and they told me that they were unable to obtain figures showing how many times a show was accessed. I found that to be preposterous. All they wanted to talk to me about was the billions of people who could potentially listen to my show on a world wide basis. They also explained how I could pay for my air time and sell my own commercials or do the show for next to nothing and let them sell their own commercials on my show. That would be like my doing a show as a hobby, rather than the business it really is.
The TalkZone website says, "Thanks to TalkZone, anyone can host a quality Internet talk radio show from their home or office. No experience is necessary, as long as you enjoy talking about your favorite topic!"
I think I'm a little better than that.

Our rating on talkzone every week are better than almost all weekend shows on wind.

Apparently TalkZone gives you a listener count that they cannot provide for anyone else.
I will give you that you probably have more listeners than North has viewers.
Okey, dokey, David!

Hey dipshit. You realize that NOBODY on here will believe that statement after Sarley just informed us that talkzone said they can't track listeners right?

I never thought somebody could possibly be so fucking dumb.

And I can't believe I'm siding with Sarley on something.

There are no "ratings" for Internet radio.
Ratings are comprised of a percentage of listeners a station has at a given time period.
Internet radio counts "hits," people who click onto a particular Internet broadcast.
They can also count how long people are connected to a show for.
TalkZone told me that they do not have the ability to track those figures.
You say that your show has better ratings than WIND.
How?
What percentage of all of the zillions of Internet listeners around the globe does your show have?
Yeah! I didn't think so.
If you like what you do, then do it and stop bullshitting yourself and everyone else about ratings and numbers.

Maybe I am wrong - from the TalkZone website -
"Hosting an Internet Talk Radio Show on the TalkZone Internet Radio Network will let you reach millions of listeners across America and worldwide. It will give you a powerful online presence and an enhanced brand identity. Best of all, it will showcase you and your company as true leaders in your field."
I bow to your popularity as proven by your millions of listeners.
I assume that this is what you mean by saying that TalkZone gives ratings.

Numbers/ratings same thing to me. I know more people listen to Sports & Torts than most WIND, ESPN, or WSCR weekend shows.

David, try being serious.
There is no way that any Internet radio show beats any terrestrial radio show in number of listeners.
If TalkZone is giving you numbers, which they told me that they were unable to do, I am sure they are incredibly inflated.
I really doubt that your TalkZone show draws as many listeners as the over-the-air broadcast of the
Mike North Show on the "Big One," WBIG out of Aurora, and WBIG isn't exactly a blowtorch.
Does Sports and Torts outdraw the rest of the powerhouse TalkZone sports line-up that includes shows like:
2 Guys And A Mic; Hot Rod Nation; RadioOn The Sidelines; Talking Illini; The Fan Cave Radio Show; The Race Report; The Tailgate Guy With Jay DiEugenio; Winning Wednesdays; and Youth Sports Fan Forum?
You outdraw WMVP? Hell! You couldn't outdraw my old buddy, the Chaunce, on your best day against his worst day.

So a service that you pay to "broadcast" your "show" over the internet, gives you numbers indicating that your "show" is popular?

Stunning.
