I can't stop thinking about how lucky Mitch Rosen has been as overlord of the score. He had Telander walk away, Murph die of AIDS, and North reject a contract that literally would have paid him 100 times more than he makes now. If he ran the Cubs would their bad contracts magically disappear?

What's murph doing now? I swore I saw him at the Y 3 days ago getting into an old acura with a license plate and sticker for 94.3 or 94.7. I can't remember the exact #s.

I would still rather listen to Murph than Loho, Zach, or Maya Gavin.

I'd rather listen to Murph than a wide range of their daytime lineup. Let's see, Meatpants, Bernstein, Loho. Mully and Hanley are a likeable bunch;Hanley moreso IMO.

Murph simply got screwed. He was not one of my favorites, but when the new program director (Mitch) comes in and one of his former clients when Mitch was an agent at Paragon Sports( LoHO) has been begging for a slot since the late 90's, the writing was on the wall.

Holy shit. This is more murphy support than I have seen here in years. I thought he was a dick, but at least he talked about Chicago sports rather than whatever passes for sports discussion on the McNeil/meat pants lame ass music festival heard daily.

Count me as one of the guys that did not appreciate Murph until he was gone. Well, I take that back, back in the Murph & Fred days, I actually liked being the only one up, listening to them in the can while I got ready for work.

You'd think that sort of thing would itch...

I wouldn't mind being able to hear murph again. I didn't miss him until he was gone and The Score became WSOX all day all the time. Somehow my hatred for North carried over to Murph too when it probably shouldn't have.

instead of pining for sports spurts, how about finding NEW talent. i agree that loho and zaidman and rock and most of the other young talent blow, but don't bring back murph. swami murph, judge murph, sports spurts, cub talk ad nauseum, people really miss that?

Murph had a charm about him, though finding out that he was a prick to listeners off-air diminished that. He and his show certainly had their place in the Chicago sports landscape, but with the ever-increasing toxicity of the relationship between Murph and the B&B tree, you knew Mitch was going to fire him eventually.
