it sounds like this is the only site that keeps his name alive anywhere. How old is North now, in his 50s? Sort of late to make a move but maybe his 90s stichk may work in another town.

Northy has made some somewhat questionable moves. The last time I thought he was really good was with Doug. I didn't mind him solo. And I obviously didn't mind his earlier years.
The morning show was god awful, but it was still Northy, plus I was never up that early much, so it didn't bother me in the least.
I would've liked for Mike to be teamed up with Hood or Goff. Mostly I would've liked Mike on from 10-2.....cause I wouldn't want B&B switched for anything. And I don't think Mike is a morning person which didn't help him.

Trying to figure out why he left so much money on the table in leaving the Score is puzzling. Would make you think he's financially set regardless, cause even if Mike was stupid enough to think he could turn something else into a riveting success, I don't think Bebe would've fallen for it.

So I don't know, he didn't like his bosses, co workers, pride was hurt.......whatever, he turned it down. It was his decision and he made it.
And who am I of all people to be his judge and jury. I've had my own.

It's nice to see Northy still has some fans. I don't think anyone on this board could be a bigger fan then me. I still go to his web site to see what's going on,but even I have admitted that this guy has made one wrong move after another. Mike has admitted his humor is derived from many years of watching and admiring Don Rickles. When Mike makes a racial "joke",I think that's what he is trying for. Yet,the coded comments about politics comes through like a classic old fashioned angry middle-aged white guy. In saying that,he is still much more "entertaining" (bad or good) then 80% of today's clowns.

I think what he was offered was probably still more then B&/orB make right now.
That is why there is animosity between them. Like somebody once said: "Follow the money". Bernstein & Boers probably make around 3-400 thousand,Mike was offered around 500 thou. (Just guessing)

That's a lot of money to turn down. As I said, he may be stupid enough to do it, still don't think BeBe is though. Then again, he got caught up with that other cat who got in all the trouble, and BeBe didn't help much there.

The whole animosity thing is odd at that station. Sometimes I think Terry and Dan (McNeil) have actually always been at the root of most situations.

Course I tend to always side with Mike so - hard to say I guess.

I believe both Boers & Berns make about $350K. North's last contract offer was around $800K.

And so are his successes. He is a self made success story. There's no question.

He had a nice long run of success, friendships, money, and importance.

Most of the great ones have nowhere to go after such an unprecented run.

For the most part, I equate Mike North with Tiger Woods, Lebron James, and Brett Favre.

Strangely, I'm pretty anti Right Wing with a definite lean towards the left....and at times towards the middle.

I just tuned Mike out when he spouted non sensical right wing rhetoric.

Mike will be off reaping the benefits of his success and living in the lap of luxury, as well as banging that fine piece of tail know as BeBeAllYouCanBeBeBe!!

I still think that Mike's loyalty to his long time buddies, some highly questionable, as well as holding onto his long held beliefs and upbringings, have greatly contributed to his recent string of questionable decision making.
The old neighborhood, so to speak, is actually what keeps getting him in hot water.

So I don't believe he's forgotten where he's come from.

In fact he was so stubborn in his beliefs about management, political correctness, and the like..........that more than likely is the reason he gave up 800k. Which completely befuddles me.

So actually Bob, YOU are the stupid one for abandoning him when he needs you most. It's about time to pay the man back for the countless hours of joy and expertise that he provided you throughout the years.

One more thing,right now Chetster is beating Mike at his own game. His 5 minute update is very professional & polished. He has better graphics and throws in some odd stuff (Hogan vs. Andre anniversary). Also has some classic Rock videos to end the show,very well done!
