Can someone pass the word to the update guys in Bristol that we don't need updates on Barbaro's health every 20 minutes? Turn the horse into glue already! It's not like most people are even concerned with the humanitarian aspect, its that there is so much money to be made off the horse as a stud that has kept him alive thus far. Otherwise, the horse might have just been shot on the freakin' track. Just stop it already! |

I sincerely hope you are joking. This has happened to millions of horses, and because we were forced to acknowledge its existence since the injury was on NBC I should be up in arms it happens? I don't need the updates from the stall, its gone overboard. I'd expect this from PETA radio, not ESPN. The horse wasn't going to race anymore after this year, anyway. |

OK, I can not take this crap anymore. Now I do like animals and would never want to see one die, but this Barbaros update crap in the newspapers, on the radio, and on TV is really out of control. It's so annoying. I'm glad you brought this up Scholar. There is absolutely no reason to get an update on this horse's health every twenty minutes. My God, I don't think we had updates on the health of greats like Mickey Mantle, Ted Williams, or even ESPN's own Peter Gammons as much as this damn horse who is not a person by the way. Just wondering if Dan "The Duke" Davis knows the whereabouts of Benji these days as well. Enough with this shit. Reports on the horse having an operation, ok...still not a fan of even this. Report on the horse's death, ok sure, whatever. But again, I do not need to know that the fucking horse is now sleeping on its side. I don't give a shit. Your audience at large does not pay attention to horse racing as much as Hank Goldberg. Which means most of your audience doesn't give a shit about the life of this horse. Again, do I want to see it die? Am I dying to know the latest? Absolutely not. I feel like Jurko as I keep repeating myself, but I just am so fucking sick of it. This horse won the Derby and that's it as far as the big races go. It's not going to be in ESPN's Top 100 athletes of the 21st century...hell no horse should have been in the 20th century, but that's an entirely different rant. Stop with the horse news. Stop, please stop now. I'm almost willing to listen to The Score the entire day to just get away from these idiotic updates every 20 minutes. I wonder if they'll give me the latest in men's tennis while they're at it today. Stupid Bristol....OK, I'm done. Sorry. |

Ha, sorry Doug. I know you have been much more sensitive to the issue than Scholar and I. |

There wasn't this much attention when Mr. Ed died and millions watched him every week for years. A horse is a horse of course of course....Where's Wilbur when we need him? I just heard Dan Davis tell me Barbaro had a restful night. I can sleep now. I was awake all night worrying about it. This was in the Duke's update along with the Tour de France and the Quad Cities Open. It's simply a HUGE day for sports news. |

After listening to the Duke stumble through the 12:20 update, I think he should have the same fate as Barbaros. |

Hard for me to stick up for the Duke now, but as a fan of the late-great Tony Kornheiser show, he was a humorous addition to Tony's cast of characters. |
