What do you love best about the snafus with audio at the audio-only business what is WSCR AM? Me, well for while I thought it was real neat how they would randomly leave in entire commercial blocks on the podcasts they (eventually) post. But my new, being ABSOLUTELY HONEST, favorite is when some genius at the station forgets to turn the Internet stream over to Sporting News Badio when a Sox games comes on....so rather than hear a Bob Berger scream about nothing, I get Farmio ignoring DJ. BRILLIANT! I always wonder if there is some sort of fine from MLB if/when they are caught NOT turning off the live stream of MLB game call(s)? |

What I mean is that SCREWING UP AUDIO when it's the ONLY THING YOU DO is quite a thing. And WSCR seems to do the messing up part, well. |

I liked when they removed the "Murph" feature. |

Is Larry better than Murph? Really? I was no die hard fan of Murph, but sweet baby Jesus was/is he 1000x more listenable than Larry. Back to the topic at hand, I think it's neat how there is NO consistency to the timing/order/completeness of podcasts posted. Don't they ALWAYS have 13 interns roaming the station? Can't they assign this task to one of them. Once a quarter, show an intern how to properly do it and set the expectation that it be done? They are getting credit for being there, right? Why not improve the delivery system of your product, FOR FREE? Oh, that's right, you'd have to care! |

A sad day is coming when Sir will be hosting a daytime show on the Score. That will begin another turning of the tides towards ESPN much like when Dan Mc Neil left. |

My new favorite feature is when they turn off the local feed of the station, online..............but not to the always-awful Bob Berger-filled Yahoo Sports Radio, but of recent vintage to NOTHING. Literally nothing. The stream will be just a faint sound of static. White Sox game on locally? The stream goes to nothingness. Sunday Night NFL game? That's right, a slight static sound is streamed at full blast for all of those tuning into 670 The Score! Did mgt forget to pay Yahoo Sports Radio for rights? Are the techs just dumb? Does no one realize it? I assume there are ad revenues to be made on the stream at ALL times, so you'd think they would care? Maybe not. I despise Yahoo Sports Radio, undoubtedly, but this is Bush League stuff. Put something on there. Run best of the shows from the past week. Roll out some classic Score interviews. Or play dead air. Either way! |

People here like to shit on Harry Seaward for shitting on others, doing so shittily, creating a lovely daisy chain of shit, but he has a point: the Score really does struggle with basic audio stuff. I guess this shouldn't be a surprise; they're also paradoxically a talk station where no one can read copy. I like when they're on remote and you can hear callers over the p.a. at the remote through the host's mics as well as through the board, so that they echo like the voice of God as they ask why no one's firing Jerry Angelo. Sometimes they don't get potted down. This isn't an audio glitch so much as an oversight by traffic/continuity, but it sounds pretty damn amateur when three Russ-voiced spots air in a row. Two spots back-to-back has become so commonplace that I don't even give it a second thought when I hear the same voice instantly snap into an unrelated read, but now and then you'll get a hat trick and be bombarded with Russ Mitera vocal affectations for like 90 to 150 seconds straight, endorsing one thing after another, sometimes with beds, sometimes not. Either have more people record spots or stagger them or something. |

I could actually voice some of the spots that Russ Mitera does for the SCORE...Seriously. I've noticed from time to time, "Whispering" Ernie Scatton and even SCORE Sports Director Chris Collins voice some of the local commercials that Russ doesn't. |
