Normally, I don't mind listening to Murph and he's definitely guilty of many of the things that he's criticized for (thin skinned, quick temper, etc.) But during the 1 o'clock hour on Thursday, he was covering the first day of training camp for the Bears and provided play-by-play coverage of practice. I don't know if it was Murph's idea or not, but absolutely unlistenable. Who would think this would be a good idea? "Hey they're using field #3 now!" Fascinating Murph |

I heard a couple of minutes too. It sounded like tape from 1972 - poor quality play by play . . . yes, of training camp. |

Methinks he INTENTIONALLY bags segments he doesn't want to do. Everyone has painted him as a miserable bastard, so it wouldn't surprise me. Doing a phoner from a practice has to be one of the dumbest things ever conceived. Possibly as dumb as doing a bit on the fluctuation of scalper's Cubs ticket prices when the Sox were playing the Tigers. People with better numbers have gotten fired for being a bad teammate. 2 hours worth of farts would draw more listeners in Chicago than Dan Patrick. |
