Gow Broadcasting announced today that Sporting News Radio has been rebranded as Yahoo! Sports Radio, a change that will affect about 180 affiliates and will allow content from Yahoo! Sports and Rivals to now be featured on the radio network.

I'm not sure listeners will notice much of a difference. Here in Chicago, WSCR 670 The SCORE had aired syndicated sports talk from Sporting News Radio (and FOX Sports Radio) in the overnight hours Friday through Sunday, or more accurately from 1-6a Saturday, Midnight-2a before Maya Gavin's Sunday morning show, and again from 4-6a Sundays on the CBS Radio-owned sports talker and White Sox flagship.

In case you are wondering, this is what the home page of the new Yahoo! Sports Radio looks like:

Feh. They are still One-on-One Sports Talk

Looking at the article and clicking around... I see PBS wants to open a channel in the UK.

Upstairs/Downstairs reruns to be broadcast? I, Claudius?

I'm thinking... BBC America shows their DIY shows and talent shows. As if I need to see more of that!
It's time for a remake... "Nobody has Talent", a reprise of the "Gong Show"! With audience participation...

When we blown all this Reality TV shit away, and the puds are out looking for some other incredibly cheap-to-film shows, do you think maybe we'll get some of those Mexican variety shows (also, Japanese follows the same format)?

In lieu of a gun & a steady hand...

Todd Wright used to work "All Night" when he was at ESPN Radio and has done the same show on Sporting News Radio before the whole Yahoo! Sports Radio transformation this week. Scott Jackson had a guy who was once a scout(?) representing 2011 Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders on his show which aired after The SCORE's Chris Rongey wrapped up White Sox/Twins' coverage. Didn't hear enough to give a review.
