That he's a great analyst. Listen to what he says during a game. Nothing. No insight. Or if he gives it, it's rare. Pay attention to what he does. All he does is wait for something to happen, they show the replay and he just tells you exactly what your seeing on the replay. Or he'll just repeat what Hawk just said. Every now and then he gueses right on what the pitcher might throw but that's no big deal. A lot of people can figure that out. He'll states the obvious and repeats obvious observations throughout the game. He's also boring as hell, tells no interesting stories, has no fun and is a jackass. How did the myth of him being great get started? I think a lot of writers and talk show hosts started it because Stone befriended them. It's false. He's bad. |

To be fair he used to be good when he had to carry Harry. Now Hawk doesn't shut up. |

Because he wasnt with the media killer at the time. Hawk is not only terrible at his job he makes the other person suck just as much. If you think back to all the years Stone spent with Harry and remember how many times they laughed about something. Same thing with Len and Bob or even Ron and Pat. You never hear Stone and Hawk laugh. You basically rarely hear Stone. Dj and Farmio is just "Did you ever______" back and froth all game. |

I never really paid attention to him with the Cubs. I watched sometimes but never really listened. I just know he sucks with the Sox. |

I'll give you that. Stone is scared of Hawk and avoids confrontation. There have been moments where you can tell Stone wants to call Hawk out but won't. |

Stone is like the guy who had the hot GF and she dumped him and now he is dating this nasty Caller Bob, that he keeps trying to prove how much better she is than the old GF. |

I also notice that Stone hates when Hawk makes the observation on something before he can do it. It's stuff all the viewers can see but Stone wants to be the first to say it. It's a pride thing. Most "play by play" guys let the analyst do it. But, to be fair, Hawk played the game too so he's gonna go ahead and beat Stone to it. Stone hates that. Sometimes Stone just talks over Hawk so he can say it first. To be honest, Hawk gives more insight than Stone. I know a lot of you guys hate Hawk. But he's a smarter baseball man that Stone despite some of Hawk's bullshit and crying about umps. |

Despite Hawk talking too much and intimidating him there is still enough time for Stone to show his alleged "greatness". He doesn't. Don't blame it all on Hawk. Stone is more boring and dumb than what people say. He sucks up to Reinsdorf. I notice that. The Cubs firing or whatever Stone says happened shocked him so that's why he's gonna lick the Sox and Jerry. He thought he was bigger than what he was. He thought he was untouchable by the Cubs despite being an unsufferable jackass. |

Hub, Stone, Even Hubes, Danny Mac, dont think most towns have numerous venues that once a guy is canned in one place he can shit on them in another. |

He was able to convince Mitch Rosen that he's worthy of 40k (Just a guess) for a limited role at the station. Mitch is probably star-struck by him. Think about that. Stone makes more than Score producers for a couple of weekly segments during a baseball season. Drinky: Goff: Stone: |

Goff should really be pissed. I'm sure he isn't getting anything for being the station expert on a more popular sport. |

I used to think Stone knew a lot until ESPN put Bobby Valentine on the Sunday night games. BV may be a douche but he knows his baseball. There was a play a while back where the winning run was on third with 2 outs and another runner on first. I think the ball was hit to the 3B, who then threw to second for the final out of the inning. (The runner at 1B made a typical slide into second and was forced out.) Valentine pointed out that once the ball was hit on the ground, the runner on first should have sprinted toward second and run through the base (kind of like a batter would run through first base trying to beat out an infield hit). The theory was that the runner needed to beat the force out at all costs, and it didn't matter if he over-ran the base since the winning run would already have scored. I had never thought about that strategy before, but it makes sense. |

Mitch is stupid if he's pissing away that much cuz Stone doesn't bring more than that back to the station. That's just money for my buddy management. If that truley was the case than all the producers should charge Mitch in anger. |
