Post subject:  Gerry DiNardo College Football Show

I didn't see this listed by any of you college football wonks, so thought I would add it. Caught only a few minutes of the show coming home, then going to get beer. He had a couple of interviews with coaches (I specifically remember the Wisconsin head coach) and took some calls.

Gerry is pushing the concept that we should expect 4 conferences with 16 teams each. For a novice like myself it was an interesting couple of minutes. My math tells me that is only 64 teams. I guess everyone else packs up the pads and plays soccer? Some of you more in love with college football and the Big Ten might enjoy the show.

Here is the link to catch it.

I didn't hear the season premiere of Gerry's "Inside College Football" show late last night. When it aired on 670 The SCORE & 670thescore.com last football season, it followed pretty much the same formula as a year ago. It would follow White Sox baseball and then air at 10p Friday nights after the Sox had concluded. Connor McKnight would not only do updates during the show, but he'd occasionally chime in with thoughts and opinions Gerry would offer on the issues and key games involving Big Ten schools, Notre Dame and other notable matchups around the country. As for this year, I'm not sure it will air Tuesday nights like it did for last night's season premiere.

Dr, who do you like as the next head coach for the Illini? Does Mike Leach do anything for you?

I'm not sure about Dinardo as a radio show host, but it's great to at least have a show that focuses on College football, & there aren't many shows to choose from.

Gerry just called Soldier Field, Soldiers Stadium.

Does he sound like he is out of breath and going to have a grabber any moment like when he is on with B&B?

Gerry has a rough go as a solo host but I love the content. Last week, he read a text that went like this -

"ND defense looked like something Karen Carpenter threw up.........maybe I should read these in advance."

Later -

Text: "Where's Les?"

Gerry: "Les Miles was on in the first hour."

Plus, he must have said that the Big Ten divisions were easy to remember, "It's Iowa and all the M's and N's" about 6 times within 2 minutes.

Guys, there's one guy who can help Gerry DiNardo's "Inside College Football" show, which will eventually be on at 10p Tuesday nights once this sorry White Sox season mercifully ends. He's Connor McKnight, who not only did updates on DiNardo's show, but also helped DiNardo in certain discussions he was talking about relating to college football a year ago. DiNardo's well connected to the college game, and seems to be as guest-driven as whenever Hub Arkush has an airshift on The SCORE.

I think it's possible Leach could succeed but I'm not sure if that's the direction they'll want to go after Zook.

I'm guessing they'll be looking for a hot, first-time prospect and good recruiter. I'd lean toward that. I think Leach has too much baggage, especially since many aren't happy with the quality of the program on and off the field with Zook. I think they'll go as squeaky clean as they can.

I love his show. It has absolutely no polish but really good content.

I'm listening to last night's show right now.

I don't really follow College FB ever but I always liked his bits with B&B. Seems to be knowledgible and fairly self deprecating which is nice with the glut of "experts" that take themselves wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too seriously (see: Arkush, Hub: Zaidman, Zach: Stone, Steve: Sarley, Steve)

I too have warmed up to the Gery Dinardo show. I kind of like the fact that it isnt squeaky clean & polished.
