Bernstein goes bananas. 7/28/10. Terrys ISDN goes out in a storm and Dan takes some real bad calls. That was the "I'm not hanging up" guy and Dan left him on hold for Larry to deal with. |

- Tommy Williams announcing the death of Indy driver Ayrton Senna - Here's one that really sticks in my head, from LONG ago: North did a commercial for a place that did bachelor parties (Hawthorne Park?) and the copy included such lines as "they throw the the strippers at ya!". And then at the end, he was out of breath from listing all the activities ("poker...strippers...beer...strippers...ahh..ahhh...ahhhh"). A few weeks later, Boers and Mac did a commercial for The Butcher Shop (a steakhouse that used to be in River North next to a pool hall called Babe's), and at the end of the commercial they copied North's shtick, alternating between Boers and Mac: "It's a tough choice...Butcher Shop...Babe's...Butcher Shop...Babe's...Steak... Chops...Ribs...ahh...ahhh...ahhhh") and by the end they were panting the same way North was in his commercial. It was a clear reference to North's commercial, all in good fun. Those were the days when it felt all the hosts were on the same team. |

- I second the nomination for "Don't call me Wally" - North's butchering of Jaromir Jagr ("Jagmir Jaguire") - Heavy Fuel Crew's "One toke over the line, sweet Jesus, one toke over the line..." - The montage of Joe Carter lowlights as Cubs announcer - Murph's thin books (e.g., "Bulking Up Naturally, by Tony Mandarich") - North and Sam Smith discussing Jay (formerly Jason) Williams's name change ("he didn't want to be confused with the pot smoker or murderer") - Coverage of the Dave McGinnis fiasco - North interviewing Ditka after a tough New Orleans loss - Any number of Buffone/OB post-game shows |

Because it was never like Mike to bring his personal business to the air.. lol This was in the days were even the prime guys worked on holidays (I think they made at least one of the Monsters and HFC work Thanksgiving, day after, christmas eve, etc). North was watching the traditional day after games, like LSU/Arkansas, and said something along the lines of "if you need to make a quick play go see X at Y". He wasn't being malicious, just typically flippant. I've been told it did not go over well. |

The absolute number one moment in Score history: The day Score hosts/producers and Score fans discovered me. I saved an oppressed, disenfranchised fan base from the Score. I saved Chicago sports fans from "Team Bernstein" and their evil treatment of the radio listener. I exposed them as hyporcrites and evil doers. Ladies and Gentlemen, behold the exact moment I decided to join CSFMB. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMgGNxyCHsY |

If you're including embarassments in this list, consider McNeil screeching at Eric Kramer after a loss during which the camera caught Kramer with a smile on his face. McNeil spent about three years backing off and working himself up to a full apology, which he finally made. It was 20 years ago, but still get referenced a bit when sideline demeanor comes up. |

No shoutout for Mike North and the giardiniera on his shoes!? LOL There should be a spot to nominate classic WSCR commercials! I'd add the giardiniera and I'd also add Max Madsen, who was both mad and bad, but obviously not crazy. |

This may be too recent to warrant canonization, but I'd like to nominate Terry's half-whispered "by cracky" during the Steve Stone interview last spring. |

My favorite WSCR moment was after the ill-fated Thanksgiving promotion when Mr. Carlson came back into the office and said "As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly." |

Out of all those, I only remember Ozzie vs North. I wish I could hear some of those moments now, sounds interesting. |
