I was listening to B&B yesterday when I heard a sports betting commercial; the kind where some guy says he knows the winners and all we have to do is call him up. I realized I hadn't heard one of these all season, and had forgotten about how the Score used to be loaded with these, even selling 30 minute blocks to the scammers. Anybody know why these commercials disappeared and why they're back? The Score could have had some policy on them, or the advertisers could have just gone away, or the Feds could have shut the racket down, or who knows. Just wondering. |

Don't think they ever left. VegasEdge.com my personal fave. I actually used to own the domain name and some guy from NY bought it from me for CASH. Of course I reported it. Anyways, he told me that CBS owned it previousely? Hmmm |

These commercials only run during football season and I think I know what you're referring. The one that aired during "Boers & Bernstein" quite a bit before the Raiders/Chargers' game on "Thursday Night Football" was a commercial starring Dave Cokin, who I've seen on a "show" called "ProLine". This "show" was actually a paid infomercial that aired for many years on USA Network early Saturday morning from Las Vegas, and featured several high-profile handicappers such as Cokin, Jim Feist, Wayne Allyn Root and other guys who claim to have documented winners on a "recorded message". It's not just last night's Raiders/Chargers' game. The handicapper ads have also popped up just hours before "Monday Night Football" and before several high-profile college games on Thursday night. |
