Post subject:  Larry's fascination with Larry

Walked in during the Rongey update and they toss it back to Larry. Now I don't usually just turn the radio off because Larry is on, I almost always give him a chance, but almost always PTFB within the first 10 minutes.

Tonight, instead of getting off my ass, I chose to see how long Larry chose to tell Joe O how cool he was.

Basically, 13 minutes from 7:00 PM to 7:13 PM all about Larry and his new celebrity hater Wed guest, going to try and get Paula Faris, maybe you don't know, but he is friends with her and thinks she is really cool (In case you missed the first 400 times he said that), then he explained to Joe O, who is his producer, that he had Lance Briggs on last week, then Brian Urlacher called in and they talked to him . (This usually happens when someone calls you). I know Joe O was out of town, but something tells me Joe knows that Briggs was on the show.

Larry then went on to give us his list of potential guests, Julius Peppers and Nick Roach are now high on the list. Because it's tough to get Peppers.

First 13 minutes in the 7 PM hour, all about Larry and his celebrity guest list. To be honest, these people were not really there to participate in his signature segment, he just happened to be talking to them,

Was done with it and PTFB.

But see, when his minions beckon BF to "c'mon, give him a chance", BF can say that he did and that it fuckin' sucked.

I, for one, will use his proposed response as my own in proxy.

I am always going to give him a chance. The radio in my home office stays on from 5:30 AM until I go to bed, or I turn it off sooner due to terrible radio. Not so sure why this is so hard for some to believe, but strange things happen daily.

So when I get home if Larry is yapping or Ed and DJ are delivering that special brand of humor only they and rongey know about, I don't run to the radio with the intentions of turning it off. I end up turning it off as it is so amazingly bad sometimes.

I look forward to the Jason Goff show developing.

The other day, during a pointless "Larry gives us his ideas/tidbits before the Bears game" segment with B&B, Larry proved once again how influential and powerful and cool and important he is.

He needed to make sure to tell us why he was in NY. Just a day trip. No big deal. That's how he rolls. We needed to be filled in on his breakfast spot there, as well as that he did, indeed, have some time take the city in. Anyway, back to the topic of the segment: LARRY. He was there, as an invited guest, to speak about colitis and Crohn's Disease. Oh, were you aware why he was invited? Let him tell you. It's because they say a clear spike in the amount of guys wanting to get checked out after he came back from his "time off", and bravely made aware at least 200 listeners about what he had been through on the air.

I wish nothing but failure for this pompous wannabe (at least in regard to his on-air career). He is such a dbag.

I heard this and chose not to say anything.

That was special! The rise in checkups due to Larry, per Larry!

I called my guy that day and asked about Crohn's. He spent our senior year (Summer vacation) in the hospital with it. Was down to 85 pounds, had to get part of his small intestine removed. Good guy to ask. I even lived with him when we graduated college, and I am just thankful we got a 2 bath unit!

I asked if someone would ever go for a checkup without any of the symptoms, he laughed and said NO.

I told him Larry's story and without a reason (Stomach pains, blockage or family history) nobody is going in and saying "Doc, I heard this guy on the radio, I was wondering if you can check me for Crohn's disease!"

One thing Larry has going for him, just like most media people, he is full of himself.

The ONE thing that really annoys me is when some stupid schlub like LH patronizes some hot TV/Radio broad with all kinds of compliments. "Hey she's a cool chick and...yada,yada" It really is pathetic. It reminds me of the late Eddy Schwartz days on "GN. Steve and Garry used to rip him a new one the day after he would have a beauty queen on talking about some charity and fat Eddy (not to be confused with "fast Eddy") was slobbering all over her.

Sounds like he was talking about Bears he's had on the show and ones he'd like to have on the show in the future.

Not really about him.

Laurence does talk about himself (HE-HE SteveDahl etc) but this is not a great example.

I don't know why you wasted your time with this. JHood was holding court on ESPN1000 and it was a great listen. Marcus Robinson called in out of the blue to talk about playing with bad QBs.

I like J Hood. His current show just doesn't stand up to what Laurence is doing on SCR. Laurence has fans and haters tuning in on a regular basis. The WMVP version of Hood is good, but not my favorite...
