I was reading the 7 part History of the Score at http://chicago.cbslocal.com/content-vertical/the-scores-20th-anniversary/, and they forgot to mention WEBIO!!!

How do you tell about the Score history without talking about why a lot of former Score people are former Score people? Especially when it was backed by Mike North, a true American success story whose personal Vietnam taught us all a valuable lesson about what happens when you trust a shiftless Mexican.

webio cleaned house of a lot of dead weight from the Score's perspective. It saved Mitch the duty of firing people in a horrible economy and a rapidly changing radio industry.

In those early days, airtime was plentiful as commercials were few and far between. Hosts sometimes aired a 30- second public service announcement to make a mad dash to the bathroom. For the companies that did purchase ads, they could be bought for as little as $60.

Aw, don't sell yourselves short. $60 a minute for a freshly-launched daytimer seems like quite a bit in 1992 dollars. Maybe if you charged less, you'd have had longer bathroom breaks!

Might be a timing thing, but I thought George and Fred were already launched. Jesse? Who knows?

I think Fred got fired from the Score right around when Mac got fired from 1000. George left on his own, which is baffling.

Would Mitch have been fired years ago if Rick Telander didn't have his moment of Zen and leave his contract?

or if North signed that 800K contract in a down market with less than flagging ratings

Had North given up his phony Goodfellas stance and signed:

No yelling Mully, no Hanley comedic genius.
No LoHo at night, more Hamp elucidating.
Murph (cause it ain't too broke to need fixin').
Dan & Terry, more teflon and more impervious than ever.
A new late night voice for CSFMB to love/loathe.

Mike North billboards and Jen Patterson promoting bars, restaurants, car dealerships, coffee shops, hookah bars, and DUI attorneys.
