What does it say when you've been doing a job for a few months now and show absolutely no improvement? He still trips over his sentences and can't read a Teleprompter. And I don't think he's getting any better. Adamle's been at the job for like a decade and he hasn't improved.

Mike Adamle's best days are clearly in the scrapbook, and one would think NBC5 would upgrade its sports staff in the wake of the death of Daryl Hawks last May and Paula Faris leaving Chicago to co-anchor ABC News' "World News Now" overnights.

Laurence Holmes is getting more & more face time, anchoring sportscasts on NBC5 Saturday nights on the 5 & 10p newscasts anchored by Lisa Parker & meteorologist Cheryl Scott, along with "Sports Sunday". He's also been doing actual reporting for the NBC Universal-owned station during the week, in addition to the nighttime show on 670 The SCORE.

I don't know what NBC5 bosses are waiting for. I wouldn't have a problem seeing Comcast SportsNet anchors doing sports on NBC5 News, given the fact the regional sports network is now part of the NBC Universal family. It would be better than what they have now.

I think channel 5 could really benefit from Sarah Kustok's rich baritone.
