Today I'm here to say goodbye to my good friend Pat Summerall. Pat was my broadcast partner and friend for a long time. We were on the road through good times and bad.

I still remember the first time he came with me on the Madden Cruiser. He had gone through a case of Dewars after a Cowboys/Giants game, and was passed out in the back. I remember waking up and he was standing there, just...just saying, "something happened" as he was jamming the empty bottle up my backside.

BOOM

He used some leftover french fry grease that the McDonalds in Ft Worth bottled up for me to lube it up... it was...

Once upon a time, it was a big game when Pat Summerall put down the bottle long enough to work CBS Sports' top NFL game over 25 years ago. After calling only the Cotton Bowl in his hometown of Dallas in recent years for FOX Sports, Pat's still around, but only doing voiceover work on a weekly high school sports show whose name escapes me at the moment. It was airing at 2p Saturdays on FOX32 before "This Week in Baseball" before FOX's "Saturday Baseball Game of the Week"...

Pat Summerall talks about his days in the NFL, his move to broadcasting, some of the memorable events he called, and his long partnership with John Madden.
Helena Chansky talks about her prep for the fitness compettion at the Arnold Sports Festival coming up next month. Learn what it takes to get an amazing body like hers!
Basketball Hall of Famer Nate Thurmond about his career, playing high school ball with Gus Johnson, playing in Philly with Wilt, the current state of the Warriors and why he believes all of the best small forwards in NBA history start with the letter B. All this on Sports & Torts with hosts Elliott Harris and me.

David,

If we bring some marathon bombing suspects in, will you interview them for us?

RIP Pat
