Had 5 mins of Johnny B. Kinda doing the same thing, but wow, talk about the old audience!

I know it is WGN and he still treats the Grandmas the same way...agreeing with them...talking to them...etc...but it's like all that called in.

Nothing like "Get Grandma to Say ARE YOU CHOKING?" Good Radio Bit

Johnny Gets the Cash
Mystery Phone Booth
Mock Rock Bands

Just 2 examples of good Radio, that no longer exists.

I gave it the first month, but I couldn't stand it.

It is almost as bad as when he went back to WLUP.

Big problem for me is too many breaks for news/traffic/weather/pork belly futures/etc.

Basically the same stuff you have heard before, but to some degree Stern got it right when he said lets do 30 minutes of stuff, and then you can interrupt me with commercials and breaks and whatever in the other thirty minutes.

Wasn't expecting him to be groundbreaking, but I still find him entertaining and he has worked his way into my button mashing on the ride into work.

I can't wait for the followup to his rap video; maybe he can call this one "employed radio mofo" cuz that'd be a real stitch!

Im a guy that loves old radio stories. I like listening to Meyer or Dahl or North or anyone from the "glory years" of radio, just for the history aspect of it.

So I was moderately excited when Brandmeier came back on the loop like 5 years ago.

It was without a doubt the worst show and specifically non funny thing Id ever heard.

I wanted to like it.

There was a segment where he read different super bowl food names for that year for like 15 minutes. Randy Mosstocolli etc.

The worst Jerry

Are Piranha Man and Buzz Killman part of the show?

I check out wgn more now than I did before....and Johnny B still has the ability to "hook" me once in a while...but overall I'm not impressed with the show. Sorta feels like he is working "boxed up" / handcuffed.

Johnny B's show is still better than the crap on the Score or ESPN in the morning, but he has definitely lost his fastball. He broadcast from some retirement home last Friday and had some terrible Neil Diamond impersonator on. Not funny. Not fun. I only listen for the hour or so before I walk to the train, then it's Adam Carolla podcast time.

Buzz calls in to Dahl's podcast every Friday. The 15 minutes he's on he barely seems interested.

Does Buzz still pretend that he likes Steve's music?

I agree for sportstalk.

For Carolla, he does a Sunday night thru Thursday night podcast that's available the next morning. It's less than a day old in most cases, though he does bank certain podcasts if his schedule dictates the need. He does a news portion, but it doesn't bother me if I get behind and listen to stuff that's a couple of days old. Usually, it's pop culture stuff that doesn't really have an expiration date.
