This 20 year deal is really looking bad...or not even close to what it should have been. Kinda disappointed in the Score on this event. Not that I am going to the Sox opener, but isnt that the same day as the home opener?

This event should have been in January and should have been better planned.

Who are they roasting? Themselves?

So larry's bashing of this event is accurate?

BF,
Turns out they are going up against the opening of "The 3 Stooges" movie which is where I'll probably be on that Friday.

I never once stated Larry might be wrong. I think I even said he could very well be right, but as long as his checks say WSCR on them, as Spiegs pointed out, not exactly the great move and I would think he would be the first to admit it.

I do think it will be a good night, only because Drinky is hosting it, he will make sure it is good, but the point is that it is a mess in trying to communicate what the fuck they are doing? If it is a roast, kinda need a subject? Is it everyone who ever worked there, but wont be there?

PREDICTION: North shows up as a last second addition. You know he wants to go, but doesnt want them to be able to say he is going.

Same with Space Ball, he should be there. Jessie Rogers should be there, Jiggs, Murph, etc etc etc.

Fishman, Zampillo, Shaky, Rock, Al Simora, Huebs, J Hood...these guys should have all been there.

I think the entertainment of the night will be Larry avoiding Big Fan. Big Fan moves to the bar, Larry moves away from the bar. Big fan approaches Dan McNeil, Larry walks away from Dan McNeil. Big Fan approaches Bernstein...Dilema!!!! Larry never leaves Bernstein!!!!! That's where you have him trapped, Big Fan.

I know this game. This is how white women treat me. But I never have a trap option. :(

1. Going to New Buffalo that weekend
2. Scenario has already happened, but replace DanMneal with Ranger

I thought it was a roast...All the promos I've heard have suggested that it is. I know that the White Sox & Tigers play in the afternoon at U.S. Cellular Field next Friday, April 13th at 1:10p. Who got the short straw and can't attend? Will 670 The SCORE air nothing but Yahoo! Sports Radio the night of the 20th Anniversary Roast? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

I get the impression that it's a half-assed open house, with some vague idea of 'events' ... seems like it's being done for any reason other than they want to do it.

Post subject:  Re: Is it a Roast?

Is it just me, or has the WSCR Marketing & promotions department gone from really really good to really really bad? The Score used to be very good at planing, executing, & promoting events like this. The 20th anniversary party seems like a disjointed mess, & the fact that they are still running at least a dozen ads per day promoting this tells you how ticket sales are going, despite Berns telling us that they are "selling at a record pace".
The way this thing should be promoted is to mention all of the past Score legends who will be attending. Like it or not, if North & Jiggetts were part of the promotion & commercials this thing would have been sold out weeks ago. Hell, they sold out a recent event that they did at Arlington Park I think it was.

Part of the problem with WSCR now is they have a long list of ex employees who have left on bad terms, which is unfortunate, & many of these guys don't want to be in the same room with a few of the asswipes who are still at the station who couldn't get along with anyone if they tried. I'll leave it to you to figure out who that is.

Edit: Upon further review, I was way off in thinking that the number of daily commercials promoting the 20th anniversary party was about a dozen, as I have heard at least 5 commercials for this thing in the last 2 hours.

The score has been bad at this for a while. Sorry but the mackaversary was a wet hot mess. I mean, it was basically a vehicle for Meatasaurus. I still had a bit of fun, but it was... weird.

I had no interest in attending the Mac event, & I have no interest in attending the 20th party. I did go to the 15th anniversary event at Real Time Sports in EGV, but I was fortunate to have scored a comp badge that got me free food & booze. That was a blast.

I'm pretty sure the Score 20th Anniversary would be more accurately advertised as 20 Years Of People With Whom Terry Boers Did Not Have Completely Toxic Working Relationships. It'll be like back when the WWF would play up having some sort of old timers' night but most everyone you cared about had left on such bad terms (or died) that all they could pull were like Superfly Jimmy Snuka and Pat Patterson.

I think they have been terrible at promotions since....well forever....

Every contest is poorly run, poorly promoted and poorly thought out.

If you have ever been to an ESPN thing, I think the girls name is Lexi? She does the best job she can even for the dumb shitty little events.

I would assume that WSCR pays one girl (Ashley?) to run this stuff and she gets a team of unpaid interns to help. I can imagine trying to get a group of unpaid 20 year olds to work on a project might be a tough go?

That's what I think too. *SIGH* B-b-b-but, look, uh, eh, some of the biggest rectums that have ever walked the earth spent time in the Score studios, eh, uh, uh, and in point of fact, some of them still dooooooooo. Look, again, in my world, and uh, eh, eh, eh, I'm not gonna mention any names- heeeey- but again, every workplace has raging buttholes and this place is no exception, I mean uh, uh, I worked at the Sun-Times for the love of God, you wanna talk about walking rectums and walk they do, I mean sometimes you just can't get away from them, it's like they're following you around.

Quality.

I think at this point it is safe to say that Terry Boers is ,in point of fact, the raging asshole at the Score studios.

Oh well.

So I guess the real question is who's still in? And since Big Fan is not going, I guess that means every man for themselves as far as seating, right?

I actually still think it will be a good time, just poorly planned and promoted.

Essentially it is a night of drinking with Drinky. Which can be a very good time.

We all know Larry thinks it will be lame and maybe he is right, but it just shows what a complete idiot he is to say that on the air.

Hey Krazy, if your boss is a total jerk do you go up and tell him?
