He was talking with Dan and Teary during transition about his teaching gig. This week's topic was updates. Lawrence said he had one "superstar" in the class and SHE could work updates at the Score immediately. He also described how he let Keisha take the day off from class for the WNBA draft.

I guess I kind of admire the guy for using his college course as an introduction to Lawrence "the wad" Holmes. He wouldn't be the first professor to do it.

Im still a big Laurence fan. Best show on the Score.

But, I worry about this teaching thing. This has embarrassing scandal written all over it.

If he has no issue asking a random nameless texter out, what we'll he do with a "star student"?

Not if you view the show as a comedy, like I do.

Cmon, you guys crazy

You think Laurence and a caller arguing over calling him Larry and his exaggerated gym stories arent hilarious?

You know what? You've convinced me to take another listen from the "unintended comedy" perspective. I'll try, but I doubt it'll work tho.

Funny? Possibly.

Pathetic, juvenile, awkward? Definitely.

I honestly cannot take him with another host. Any of them. He is ok in doses on the evening shifts. Sometimes said solo show is even good. I never find him good, entertaining, informative, etc. etc. when he is on with any other host (I liked the Me & Z show, so not sure what happened, but something happened). As BigFan has explained, he gets those gigs because it don't cost nothing for the station to drop him into a primetime slot. The problem is it is bad radio and I refuse to listen anymore.

Mitch, please pay the extra money for a fill in for prime time slots. Just say no to Laurence. This listener appreciates your consideration in this matter.

I'm usually too busy with weekend/kid stuff to catch wake and bake.

I'm starting to warm to the perspective of enjoying it as comedy.

Does it only work as a morning show or would a podcast do it justice?

For example, listening to Laurences show in the morning isn't nearly as good as it is at night...

Not sure. I think you'd have to listen on the weekend for it to make sense. or monday at the latest.

It IS the slot though.

The few times that I usually have time to listen are evenings after 830 (BABY!) after work in the car (Hey Buddy) and on saturday mornings (wake n bake)

To be honest, when Laurence goes all Laurence

whether it be a gym story, a story about news anchors, or comic book movies and how they arent just for nerds

I dont know how anyone reacts to any of that without laughter

Im pissed I missed his comeback show last monday. That was probably a thing.

Without hearing it or about it im 98% sure the first words he said on the show were "DADDY'S HOME"
