The new owners of 97.9 The LOOP, Merlin Media, announced that Tricia will remain the "LOOP Rock Girl" a little while longer. They won't name a new "Rock Girl" until the end of the calendar year from what I've read.

As for Frank Leyden, I'm old enough to remember all those times when Chet Coppock chatted with the longtime Utah Jazz President. He had this thing for hot dogs...

Frank Layden alone would be a great show!

“I told him, 'Son, what is it with you. Is it ignorance or apathy?' He said, 'Coach, I don't know and I don't care.”

It was before my time, but I know he threw the only perfect game in World Series history, circa 1956. Spmack, you're right...

21 pitchers have thrown perfect games in Major League Baseball, but only one has done it in the World Series - Don Larsen. Don takes you back to October 8, 1956 for some memories of that game - a game he didn't know he was going to pitch in until a few hours before.

Being The Loop Rock Girl is certainly a full time job, but Tricia was kind enough to take some time from her busy schedule to drop by our studios. She fills you in on some of the Loop's summer plans, and where you'll be able to check her out in person around town. All this on Sports & Torts with hosts Elliott Harris and me.
