Was thinking this deal was just about up and was thinking, does the Score need the Sox or do the Sox need the Score? As The Chairman has stated that the Score is their target audience.

Went looking to see when this deal was up and see that in Nov of 2011 they extended for another 5 years? SHARK? Why wasn't I sent a PM about this?

Being on WSCR does expose the Sox more, but after 5 years did that translate to anything but a declining attendance year to years? since 2006 it has been a very steady decline.....yet, everything has been done the same?

I can only assume declining attendance equates to declines in listeners?

Was the quiet deal done because Mitch got screwed last time by Jerry at $2.5M a year and this deal was MUCH MUCH less, because ESPN didnt even offer up a bid, as they didnt last time, but nobody knew that?

Maybe it really was time for Jerry to launch WSOX? Have all the Bulls games, Mike North in the Morning with his partner Harold Baines, Coop and Joe Cowley from 10-12, The Guillens from 12-2, Frank Thomas and Ron Kittle from 2-6.

Shocked Jerry didnt do it.

Could have Brooks Boyer program the whole day...would be like the Rongey show, 24 hours.

What the Sox need is a shot of excitement in the radio booth. Caray was "one of a kind",but he brought the party crowd into Wrigley. The Sox need more than a monotone "undertaker" announcing the games. Bring in Mike North! :P

Jimmy, I agree with you and so do many of the investors. Ok, maybe not about North but the entire 'undertaker' crew is actually something that promotes your product on TV and Radio and these guys are the worst pitchmen in the biz.

I agree, but I am guessing the ratings are total shit anyways, so anyone would improve the ratings.

North might give them a shot, but fans would get sick of him in a hurry.

Contractually, even the webstream has to go away from draft talk for Sox post game.

WSOX.

As a cubs fan....I tune out 95% of the time when WSOX has their sox shows & games on. That said....when I have tuned into the sox games from time to time.....I hear what honestly believe is the worst radio broadcast team of all time. For the record...I hated Santo on the radio...and am not a fan of Moreland's either, but hughes is so good, he covers up alot of that crap, even though he does "play into it" as well.

Fuck Mike North....and keep his dumb ass off the air, especially related to the Sox.

You're probably right, but I just can't stand North...and double that up with me not being a Sox fan....sort of a double whammy.

Except Doug and O'B are Bears fans. North isn't a Sox fan. He'd be great on Cubs postgame instead of Vince and Lou or whatever corpse is doing it these days.

JORR, can I borrow your Fandom Detector?

There's a couple of guys I know who say they're Sox fans but aren't giddy when the Cubs lose.

North grew up not very far from me. I remember when the guy worked at Pottawotamie Park. Every story he has is about the Cubs. He barely even knows who the fuck Minnie Minoso is. You know why? Because he grew up pulling for Ernie and Billy. He's a Cubs fan. Period. Not even a guy like Mac or bernstein who don't really give a shit about baseball and claim to be Sox fans but who would be giddy if the Cubs won. North is A Cubs fan. He says a lot of shit on the radio. Actions speak louder than words. On the radio he hugs negroes. In real life he cuts down basketball hoops so they can't play ball.
