Post subject:  Let's Play GM: Combine the Stations - Your Lineup?

Mac suggested this thread in "Ask Mac IX - Part 2," so here goes (directly quoting Mac): "Suspend disbelief and consolidate the two stations. What would your lineup look like? Who would be the reporters? Who's the PD? The producers, etc?"

So let's have at it!

I have yet to hear Drinky, but I'm intrigued you guys think so much of him that he would make a good partner for me. I like the Mac, Jurko and Terry idea. Don't think it isn't something the three of us have discussed. How about North and Bernstein together in mornings? I laughed out loud at the J "My Show" Hood crack. Gleason as program director? You're out of your mind. He didn't have a strong will at all. Mitch Rosen in a heart beat. Update guys? For me, Juday, Ofman and perhaps Bertram (though I don't like the idea of taking him off "my show" as a producer). I'm going to give this more thought and will have a complete lineup - with producers, reporters, etc., by next week. Love the topic.

Overnights: The Grobber

5-9:30 B and B
9:30-2 North and Hood
2-7 Mac, Jurko and Drinky (Yes, that is 5 hours mac, and you would not get paid OT. How's that for strong willed)
7-11 Murph from February to September, Mully and Doug from September to February
11-3:30 Matt Speigel
3:30-5 Score replay show of the highlights of the previous day. Back when there were highlights for each show I thought this was a great idea for a dead time slot.

I would require cross talk, so Mac, you better learn to play nice. I want the listeners to at least think this is one big frat.

Weekends during football season would include

Scott Wetzel
Silverman
expanded OB and Doug
no Blackhawks

producers

Jesse
Finji
Rock
Javier Delgado

Promotions

nostradamus- the guy who posts mitch's memos

Program Director
Who do you think....Me...Like Ozzie I make the fuckin lineup.

I like your angle... :).... I like a North-Bernstein-Hood midday show. They could call it "The New Monsters." Imagine transition? And then transition to....

I would give it about a month until Terry makes remarks that drive Jurko into a rage. How could he rip on Madden, Baldinger, Siragusa et. al. and not give it to Jurko?

11:00 p.m - 11:58 p.m. - "The Idiot's paean to Alcoholism," with special guests Fritzy and Knuckles.

11:59 p.m. - Midnight: "Harry Teinowitz' jokes that make you laugh" (includes 45 seconds of commercials, most funnier than Harry's lame bits)

Don't you find it interesting that I'm the first one to mention Harry? Hmmmm....can you say: "weak link?" You know you have problems when some out of work person named T-Dubb gets more nominations than you.

How about ending each day at 10 pm-midnight with the "Cage Match Show: Salisbury vs. North". They each do their own thing...argue with themselves against strawmen arguments they create, don't listen to what the other guy is saying, keep talking over each other, do the usual name dropping, get their own sponsor plugs in, and tell each other how great they are. Each night, there is a winner and a loser. The listeners vote. The loser has to tell the other guy, "You're right, I'm wrong."

Coast2Coast That's already on from 9-12. We just don't vote.

But Mac, Rosen doesn't have "strong will" either. Look how he's let North dominate...er, destroy things over at WSCR. Comes to J-Hood, Rosen has "strong will." With North, he's a giant pussy.

This is a faulty assumption - that Harry has made me laugh for even 15 seconds. That's like assuming Murphy has given me 15 seconds of deep thought.

Point extremely well taken. Harry Teinowitz is the major reason why I rarely listen to this show. Cornball humor went out with the Edsel.

Sorry about the weird 17-minute delayed double-post. No, I'm not pulling a Woodridge Ryan (straight coffee and nothing else), but I am using a Mac (and I want to blow my brains out) with the slowest connection I've ever seen. I've been having nothing but strange problems.

Can't wait to get back to my PC where windows actually close and shift-and-the-arrow keys actually highlight.

Ok, I had to bite on this one.

6am-10am - Laurence Holmes and Brian Hanley.

10am - 2pm - Drinky & Bernstein

2pm - 6pm - Mac & Boers ( I have never liked the 3 person show)

6pm - 10pm - During the football season, I think Mulligan, Zach and Doug would do well and for the rest of the year, I like Levine and offman.

Overnights - Just because I like these two guys, I would have to go with Grobber and Big Partner.

I know a few names are missing, but I think this would be a solid lineup.

Weekends you you could use Jurko, Harry and Hood. As far as North and his buddie Jesse Rogers go, no big losses in my Opinion
