Why?

What does this do for the station, exactly? Who has "won" this over the years? Have those hires proven to be any more productive than simply watching some college schmuck's video on youtube?

Connor McKnight, right? Is that a win? A guy who sounds like 8 other guys, and really has nothing unique or fun to bring to the air (other than a lot of pained sighing).

Who was that lady? Maya something? How'd that work out?

There was 10 Foot Midget, right? He didn't really get a job, though, right? He's penning rarely read blog posts from his house. Couldn't they have just grabbed him, or 20 other dudes like him, directly from this board?

Are these events a moneymaker? Do people go out to "watch/listen" to these tryouts unless they're auditioning?

I just don't know the point, and with the volume of kids coming out of school with communications degrees LOOKING FOR JOBS...well, it just doesn't add up. Especially when you consider that the Score often takes advertising money from ICB, using one of their "traditional hires" as a spokesman for what SCHOOL can do for you ... specifically at THEIR station.

Am I the only one who finds this continued bit to be insane?

i'm with you HS. there's way more interesting radio you could do than sports talk radio..... why spend your life pimping out true players when you could be #cuttinpromos like ric flair?

Maya Gavin's no longer at The SCORE. She's moved up the dial, and this is where she is now...
