Even in your definition, the term "Adjunct Professor" denotes a PROFESSOR, who is simply hired on a part-time basis and is nit required to do research to support his position.
You do need a PHD to be a "Professor" in America, and you need to be a Professor to be an adjunct Professor.

He may not meet the technical definition but I think his claim is appropriate.
I know everyone likes a good laugh at Laurence's expense and he deserves it. However, I think it is noble to take on the mantle of mentorship, which is what he is attempting to do with his teaching and discussion with interns. He may not do it well but at least he is doing it. Mac has always prided himself on it as well. The opposite is are guys like Boers and Bernstein who have taught drinky/Goff nothing and don't even seem to use their considerable influence to help their guys.
