Greatest or the worst? He loses Mc FAIL to talk about...He loses Dusty.....What will he be able to complain about now and play drops? He won't go after McDonough because they are like best buddies. |

Hendry gets to hire the next mgr for 2 years and they sink or swim together. He's got alot of counting. |

Murphy will do what he does for every manager - he'll celebrate the hiring, give the guy an initial chance, and when/if the the team goes bad, he'll Monday Morning QB every game. I can already hear him telling us every day, maybe in Year 2, that Lou Piniella (sp??) took this job for the $$$ and at his age doesn't really care anymore because the team looks dead behind him..... |

BD, maybe the Cub can get a manager that actually wins and then we'll see how Murph treats him. You are assuming Uncle Lou would fail, which he probably would. |

True enough, if the Cubs win for more than 1 season straight, Murph would probably be right behind the manager. Assuming the Cubs continue to struggle through each season though, I do expect Murphy to be critical of the manager despite the fact that he was happy over that hiring just a season or two ago - he's followed that pattern now for the last couple hirings. |

Well, the last couple hirings have ended in disaster. Have they not? Same goes for all the managers over the last 98 years. I hope I see the Cub win someday. I want experience what the longtime Sox fans did last year. I am jealous of you and it pisses me off. If the Cub wins the World Series Murph will have a grabber so we will never know how he will treat the next manager. |
