Some may know Matt Rodewald as a "Scoreboard Update" anchor and occasional host on WSCR 670 The SCORE. Since December 2006, Rodewald has also been a traffic/transportation reporter for NBC5's own version of "The Today Show", the 2 hour, 30 minute morning newscast that originates from Studio 5 at 401 N. Michigan Ave. from 4:30-7a weekday mornings. Pretty soon, Rodewald will no longer be seen on that newscast.

According to ChicagolandRadioandMedia.com, Rodewald has been replaced by Kye Martin. Since 2008, Kye had been doing traffic on both CLTV in the morning & afternoon, as well as WGN's CW9 in the morning backing up Erin McElroy on "WGN Morning News" via NAVTEQ Traffic/Radiate Media. She'll start her new NBC5 duties Monday, July 23rd on the dawn patrol newscast currently anchored by Stefan Holt & Daniella Guzman, along with meteorologist Andy Avalos.

Well, chew on this. CBS2's morning traffic reporter is a guy, Derrick Young. ABC7's backup to Roz Varon is Thom Johnson, also a guy.

In my opinion anyway, one look at Kye Martin and Britney Spears comes to mind, long before Britney became really, really bizarre.

I think that's why Rodie's being replaced, but I don't think they do that "Dance Friday" bit at the end of that newscast Friday morning. That's how I came up with Rodewald as "The Dancing Fool". He was that bad at it.

Nobody wants to be a traffic reporter when they are in college. They get their broadcast journalism degrees and start looking. Limited jobs in this profession. They all take what they can get and hope they advance.

She is not this ugly. Not a 9 (see what I did there SHARK?) or anything, but that picture is a disservice to her actual looks.

She looks pretty damn good when compared to Ch. 9's Robin Baumgartner, who has a face like a boneless chicken breast.

That's Robin Baumgarten, and she's come a long way from being Jonathon Brandmeier's traffic girl at one point.

It actually is Baumgartner, Shark. This is a story that must be told.

She fucks up while reading more often than Kerry Sayers, I've seen her belch on the air and her co-anchor have to read a story for her because she was choking on a Tic Tac. She's horribly unprofessional and an embarrassment now, so I'd hate to have heard how bad she was when she was first starting out.
