Per douchebag kaplan: hawk had another meeting with the chairman & the used car salesman regarding his umpire criticism the other night. He will give an on air apology.

I have a feeling stoney is providing the audio for selig.

Which game was it? He was talking about how great last night's crew was.

Might've been the Angels game on Saturday. He was complaining about a close play at first base where Dunn was called out but the replay showed he was safe.

Thanks. I was at that one so I didn't hear Hawk. From where I was standing in left it looked like Dunn was easily safe. That isn't something to beef on an umpire about though. It's a bang-bang play. It's funny how Hawk goes quiet when Stone uses PitchTrax to illustrate how Sale is getting strikes a foot outside to right-handed batters.

Hawk is an exteremely difficult listen. I believe the mute button was invented shortly after he started broadcasting.

Hawk was very good from the start up until Wimpy left.

Agreed. He became king of the booth after that power play. "I'll tell you what, Peepy....I've been watching baseball for over 30 years and I've never seen a guy iron fist a booth like the Hawk."

I agree. Loved the repartee between Hawk and Wimpy back in the day. Even enjoyed the catchphrases and think "You can put it on the board" is a classic HR call.

But now I watch because I have Konerko, Rios, and AJ on my roto teams. Hawk both sucks and blows. His new catchphrase ("It's all good") is terrible and forced. Seriously one of the dumbest calls ever. Right up there with "stretch." Just leave it at "You can put it on the board," ya crazy old bastard.

"Don't stop now boys" is the one where Hawk morphed into "NASCAR on FOX" analyst Darrell Waltrip. That one drove me nuts!

Might the White Sox be in the market for a new PBP voice after this season...on the TV side?

Yup.

They're supposed to reunite again for 1 more series later this season on the TV side. They shouldn't have broken up the act.

Oh for F's sake. This braying jackass HAS TO GO. Why doesn't Reinsdorf realize that this stupid POS makes the Sox look *really bad*?

I, for one, will do the happy dance when this fucking asshole is canned.

Interesting nugget from the Hawk interview last week.

He said that Wimpy called him to tell him he wasn't coming back to broadcast. I thought Hawk had him canned.

Hawk is old school. Last of a dying breed. Doesn't bug me a whole lot because I don't consume much Sox product. He's no Double D.

There is a vocal minority of Sox fans that don't like Hawk(many of whom complain about everything) but this is mostly true.

Hawk is just a guy that people like to hate on. They'll miss him when he's replaced by some boring guy in the booth that you can go an entire game without remembering a single thing they said.

I have no problems with Hawk. I enjoy listening to him and laughing at him and I am sure he will be sorely missed when he steps away from the booth.

Darrin Jackson is my favorite baseball announcer and I would much prefer a flip-flop of the teams. DJ on the radio with Stone, and Hawk and Farmer on TV (where I can ignore them).

*I* sure as fuck wont miss the braying jackass. In fact, when he's gone, I'll go back to watching the TV broadcasts, instead of listening to Farmer/DJ.

They'll probably move Ed Farmer to television and dig up another former White Sock to do radio. UNCLE JERRY needs a new son.

Or do you suppose that Ed Farmer is the kind of broadcasting pro whose skill at so deftly painting a verbal picture would be misallocated on a visual medium?
