After looking at the recent numbers it's obvious that ESPN1000 has a lot of work ahead of them to catch up to WSCR in the ratings. The Score has dominated them and it doesn't look as if it is going to change anytime soon, even with football season coming up. If you are programming ESPN1000 what would you do? I think it is time for a shakeup and bringing in some fresh blood. I'm still convinced that Harry Teinowicz must have something on someone because I can't figure out how he has been on for as long as he has. I think Carmen DeFalco is a good guy, but I don't think he has the personality for the key afternoon drive time. I like Waddly and Silvy, but it may be time to either move them to afternoons or break them up with new partners. Johnathan Hood needs to be given a regular airshift during the day and not at night. Also, it's time to drop Scott Van Pelt from the lineup. I realize that decisions are being made by the mothership, but that ship is sinking fast in a town that doesn't want to talk tennis, olympic gymnastics or all things east coast teams constantly. Maybe the best thing that could happen is if someone stepped in to buy the station and go local sports all the time, but I don't see that happening.

Agree with everything you say.

Personally, I love Waddle and Silvy in the AM, but I could see management switching them to afternoons. Or at least Silvy, because I think Waddle has a thing where he can only do mornings for the most part since he has so many other things going on.

Would love to see Hood get a day shift.

1000 has never really cared about ratings. The only time they showed a little fight was when Dan Mc Neil scored big ratings. They really showed no remorse about letting Dan walk even when he was the top rated host in the city.

The truth is the stations are both better when they compete but 1000 just doesn't care. The lack of competition is making 670 lazy.

I would really love to see B and B broken up with Mc Neil getting afternoons, Hood being hired away to do midday and Bernstein going solo in the mornings.

Two words for Jonathan Hood...Keep him. I would agree to breaking up "B & B", but Bernstein should go solo like WFAN's Mike Francesa in New York. The frightening thought is this one. Laurence Holmes might be next in line to land a daytime slot and we all remember what he & Dan Hampton did in middays a few years ago.

I see a lot of Hood love on this board & frankly I don't get it. He's had plenty of time and opportunity to demonstrate that he could build a following and yet he simply can't move the needle. For the record, I used to listen to him occasionally on The Score & I think he's OK but not particularly deserving of a prime slot.

He's okay where he is now on ESPN Radio 1000 on "Chicago's GameNight", as well as "Bulls Buzz/Weekly" during basketball season. I would actually prefer listening to the team's radio voice, Chuck Swirsky, instead of Jon.

Bernsie solo. Now that's a really bad idea. They just need to flip flop B&B and Mac+Spiegs, or three man the latter.

He did prove that he could "move the needle". He used to outscore the flagship stations with his postgame shows during his evening shifts. It got to the point where the teams were threatning him for using their names and postgame show in the same sentence. He was promoted to a daytime show at the Score. He wasn't pulled from it because of performance. Unfortunately he has never recovered.

They should just go with the national programming. WSCR kicks their ass on the local stuff. Can't be sort of this sort of that.

A lot of ESPN Radio 1000's programming, Hatchetman, is just that. They've "Bristolized" that station big time...

I didn't care for him when he was on The SCORE either, Spmack. Sorry.

Sounds like a Brazzers site.

I like the new meme where people put the Brazzers logo on things that aren't porn.
