Something for you fellow radio geeks if you're interested. I guess when the Bulls didn't play on Saturday nights, the Loop would have Buzz Kilman do shows, called
Another Saturday Night Special. They were weird. Small little circle of callers, five or six songs, lots of local music talk. My dad loved this show and would listen whenever it'd be on, and eventually got around to taping some of them, then proceeded to lose them for several years.
Here's one from 5/4/91. I haven't listened all the way through yet, just ripped it, but I bet it includes either "Bad Boy" by the Jive Bombers or "Stuart" by the Dead Milkmen.
I know the real prize as far as AM1000 airchecks would be some Brandmeier or Steve and Garry, but this is all I have so far. Still, pretty crazy to think that this sort of esoteric stuff aired on the same 1000 that's just national ESPN shit now.
