I didn't know this had been revealed. I just googled it and found it on Wikipedia. Jim Rome is a part of CBS sports radio. He's leaving his old company. These national shows start on January 2nd.

I'm really looking forward to listening to Scott Ferrall again, 10pm - 2am. The rest of this lineup is garbage. John Feinstein? Doug Gottlieb? Good lord...

Hello? McFly? This is where to go in regards to CBS Sports Radio Network's lineup. It's called National Media.

So Rome's show is from 11am to 2pm Chicago time.

I predict that most of Rome's show will be wedged into the Score. They'll take Mac's last hour and Bernstein's first hour away. Not right away. Eventually. Zimmerman will get pressure from his CBS bosses to do so.

Beardown, not so fast! It's not a done deal that Jim Rome will even be heard on WSCR 670 The SCORE, if at all.

I predict 'SCR will soon be heard on where K-Hits is now at 104.3 FM. It remains to be heard if CBS Radio, parent company of The SCORE & K-Hits, will simulcast on BOTH 670 AM & 104.3 FM like WBBM Newsradio does now on 780 AM & 105.9 FM or if they'll expand the sports talk like WEEI has just done in Boston.

WEEI SportsRadio earlier this month split up their sports talk in Beantown, with ALL ESPN Radio all the time on 850 AM there, and local sports talk, including PBP for the Red Sox & Celtics respectively on 93.7 FM. I'm not sure if The SCORE has a similar plan.

At some point, CBS will force its sports programming on all CBS owned sports radio stations. Its what corporate media companies do.
I would really like to hear Ferrall on the bench from 10 - 12 & have Les have 12 - 5.

And at some point, CBS will also demand that its sports talkers will rebrand their stations. WSCR, for instance, would remain legally, but it would be rebranded as "CBS SportsRadio 670 AM" or "CBS SportsRadio 104.3 FM".

CBS gave Jim Rome a shit load of money. He was their big hire. He's the star of their new line up. You know damn well they're gonna want bang for their buck. The only way to get that is by having him in all of the top 10 markets. He will be on the Score.

Typically, a radio stations leading star is on in either morning or afternoon drive. 12 - 3 is the worst daypart, no?

Also, I fully expect there to be a reduction in staff at the Score. Goff may not be the only guy to bail.

That's not what I saw on 670thescore.com.

Typically, yes. But that's always been Rome's shift. I guess they're thinking it's a known known. He has a huge following in that time slot. He also does a TV show for the CBS sports network in the afternoon.

Ok. That makes sense.

Rome's CBS Sports Network show airs @ 5P (CT) from Los Angeles, just so you know.

Just have Rome take Laurence's spot. Or better yet, The Score should simulcast The Game, 92.9 FM out of Atlanta in place of Holmes.

Wishful thinking.

Larry is a fucking weed. He is the Bitch of Mitch and will remain at the station.

To me, it's demeaning to Larry's manhood to have to come in and do those half hour shows before White Sox games. What's the fucking point? Give that time to some rube like Steven Berger or let Rongey do another thirty minutes. By the time Larry is done with his wannabe B+B intro it's already like 6:15. You can't establish any talking points or comfortable rhythm in such a short amount of time.

Zizou, on those nights where The SCORE has White Sox baseball coverage starting at 6:35P, I agree with you. Let Chris Rongey do what Terry & Dan B. refer as "musings" and then do Sox pregame. It really is pointless for Laurence Holmes to do those 35 minute bridge shows, especially when I believe Laurence is the heir apparent to Terry once he does step down from The SCORE at some point.

In a 2 Baseball team town, national sport shows suck during the summer. If the Cubs/Sox just lost or won a tough game,I don't want to hear Jim Rose discussing a LA Dodgers story after the game.

Jimmy, if The SCORE shifts its local sports talk to 104.3 FM and converts 670 AM to a full-time CBS Sports Radio Network outlet as some have suggested, Jim Rome can babble away about a Dodgers' game all he wants...on one of the frequencies.

If they were fucking smart they'd have Boers do a racist show w/ North from 9-11, Rome from 11-2, then Mac from 2-6. Leery & Bernsy can suck each other off from 6 until the Sux games start, or 10.

This could get really interesting. B&B & did a pretty long bit today ripping on the CBS Sports minute & those who read it. That's pretty ballsy & I commend them for it. I wonder how long it will be until Mitch gets a phone call from CBS Sports Radio HQ?
