If you want to see some creepy stuff, check out Larry after he does his sports segment and the anchors are talking to end the broadcast. He is trying so hard to just smile and look at the camera, while remaining in the conversation that is going on with the fake laughs.

Might be the best example of OKC's call of 'uncool"

While I think "cool" is subjective, what I would say is that Laurence Holmes isn't a guy who comes across as being comfortable in his own skin. You have cited one example of why I say so.

In his own skin? He's comfortable in other people's skin

By the way, my breaking news that LoHo would be the guy at NBC sports to replace Paula Faris has proven to be 100% true.

I am accepting apologies from doubters.

I know you'd think he should be making more, but he doesn't.

I would bet he is paid a per diem for each broadcast.

TV salaries ain't what they used to be. Unless your Mark Giangreco.

I've gotta think Mark Giangreco earns over $1 million a year to do sportscasts on ABC7. That's a lot of money by broadcast standards, even though athletes earn a lot more.

There's another guy who used to work at NBC5 who once told a dirty little secret about the business. His name is Ray Suarez, who now works at National Public Radio. The summer I graduated high school, I went to Roosevelt University's journalism camp and Suarez, then a reporter at NBC5, was a guest speaker. The dirty little secret I remember Suarez telling the students & I that NBC doesn't actually hire from major markets and doesn't pay that much.

That being said, I'm not sure how much Holmes is earning at NBC5 right now, let alone Mike Adamle, Peggy Kusinski, CSNC's Pat Boyle & newcomer Rebecca Haarlow. I don't think they're earning a fraction of what Giangreco gets at ABC.

It's $275k now with the expanded gig at NBC. Somebody go let the Larz board know. Tell them the source is Dr. Ken.

I guess in a weird way he should be congratulated for defying the Peter Principle.
