Just caught it in passing but I heard Rozner saying Matt has made the decision to give up hosting Hit and Run for the one time a month he was actually there for family reasons ( read: to spend more time with his son. Commendable in of itself , I can see how those 4 hour hosting gigs really cut into your family life unlike being a singer in a cover band which hardly takes him away from his family and regular job at all but I digress). Connor McKnight will be your new host.

Ha, oh man.

Too funny, Speigs wasn't even hosting the show anyways.

He was never there anyways. The less I hear the candyman the better.

Go Connor.

That is jumping the shark. I guess he has a new 2 year deal and feels awfully set there?

That is a solid show, one of the very few they have and to have your name on it, gives you a nice bump for a resume.

I understand why it was done, maybe make it a 3 man booth? use 2 when needed. The framework of that show could do 3?

and is Wayne Randazzo that busy? The guy is doing Baseball play by play, he should have a good idea of this stuff?

Well, Wayne Randazzo is the voice of the Kane County Cougars...

That would be great.

Instead of the server pouring wine for everyone during the show, he'd be refilling everyone's gravy bucket...

Not a fan of Connor McKnight. All style. No substance.

At least Connor has dedication, pride and work ethic unlike the previous host.

I just can't stand Connor McKnight.

It's like he's trying to be a combination of different people on the Score, all while just wasting time with stupid asides and interrupting people.

This show was listenable with Spiegel, because he actually had authentic thoughts on things. McKnight is just a fraud playing radio host.

Awful, awful show.

Could they be grooming Wayne to replace Hawk? I find it weird that he wasn't put into the Hit & Run slot.

Who are "they"? The White Sox? He works for a Cubs affiliate.

Very much lack of substance. Good style, but nothing to say and Hit n run is a show all about quality. Bruce Levine, great example of a mushmouth, terrible radio guy, who has a good show because he has real info

Station bosses - trying to get him more PBP experience. I ask because I remember Bernstein dropping a hint after Hawk's explosion last year. The hint was Rongey might be moved into a PBP role - but I wasn't clear if Farmer would shift to TV or if Rongey would take it. Randazzo's a hell of a lot better than Rongey.

I like Randazzo. I have conversed with him on the phone, he seems like a solid guy.

yeah, i've previously made a thread here to say it: the dazzler is the goods. he can host a good spot-start radio show that sounds, at the very least, on par with national sports talk radio program X. he knows his baseball and seems to be the anti-bernstein in that he looks for interesting/clever/intelligent listener feedback to use on the air, as opposed to looking for dumb stuff 95% of the time and leaving any and all "good" stuff to be from the 5% that are the lieutenants and generals in your fiefdom of fanship.

i still haven't heard him call a ballgame yet, i gotta get to that sometime.... but it's hard with mlb.tv giving me, example, the technically-underwhelming shelby/kershaw matchup right now.

Awful, awful show.

And when someone starts to say something he just keeps talking over them and extends more nonsense to an already useless point... That guy fucking blows...

Hey guys, but Connor McKnight really does a great painful sigh as he considers his opinion on something....I think they taught that at the bar where he won his job! #sucksatradio
