I'm reporting it here first. He has gone national. Jason Goff @Jason1Goff 2m Happy to relay that along with my other duties I'll be hosting the midday shows on Sirius XM's NBA channel beginning Dec 9th. |

How does Drinky feel I wonder? Matt's put in the time. He's been the Executive Producer. He's half-assed it as much as Goff. Maybe he sees himself as making this type of move one day by continuing to act like a character out of the movie Gummo five days a week. |

there's an NBA channel on sirius? i haven't paid much attention since backspin 43 became backspin 46, which isn't even close to being as good as backspin 43. you have absolutely 0% chance of hearing jimmy spicer on backspin 46. fuck that. good luck tapping the shoulders of the sirius NBA channel audience so they can turn and see you do the whatup nod and then..... nothing. you're going to be a hero to hundreds, jason. |

I'm no radio man with inside information on the relative power of a position in Atlanta and Sirius but I would venture to guess that a day part shift on the Score draws more listeners on the average daily shift then Sirius and Atlanta combined. So yes, if the Score or ESPN 1000 comes calling, I think Goff would be taking the call |

Correct me if I'm wrong on these Sirius shows, but don't they have like 100 different sports shows a day to choose from? And I don't think "All NBA talk" would be a big time success. Jason's Atlanta station is struggling to get listeners according to what somebody posted. I'll guess 90k between Jason's two gigs. Not knocking that. 90k to do 8 hours of daily sports talkin' ain't bad. And the cost of living is cheaper in Atlanta than Chicago. I think it's safe to say that all of the day parters at both the Score and ESPN 1000 make at least 200k. With B&B making the most probably at 500k each. |

There is a reason Jason, Les, and Mac are generally the most respected radio guys on this board. They don't pretend that they don't read the board and they aren't afraid to actually face their critics in this forum. If you think about it, this message board is a place where some of the most rabid fans of sports talk radio in Chicago meet up. To ignore such fans is not only disrespectful, it's just goddamn dumb. But we all know they all read the board. Yeah, even bernstein. Especially bernstein. EDIT: Well, drinky might have his wife read it to him. |
