when Oliver Purnell, NIU, the dead in the water Illini coaches, etc. and 1000 is national this is a nice alternative station. That ABC sports radio network with Amani Toomer doesn't fly

Broadcasting College basketball in Illinois on the radio is not a wise move. Ray Meyer has been dead for sometime now.

The nice alternative station is not on this frequency anymore.

I'm enjoying the station so far. Very much a work in progress, but given WGN leadership I'm sure some heavy hitters will be involved soon. I'm reasonably sure Mac will be headed there. Ray Meyer's horrible dental work still gives me nightmares.

Exactly! Does The Score not realize those things are losing listeners?

They have an advantage over most start up sports stations.

They have WGN 720 and The Chicago Tribune to promote it.

After the "Blackhawks Radio Network" and "Cubs Radio Network" finish their regular post game shows, they can say "Go to 87.7 FM for extended postgame"

David Haugh can have "Can be heard daily on 87.7" at the end of his columns. KC Johnson can have his appearances be noted at the end of his articles as well.

Even channel 9 can help them out by having Dan Roan play their interviews on his sports segments

Toomer and Griffen are brutal. Listeners don't want to hear ex players talk about sports they didnt play. Double bad when said player (Toomer,Hampton exc.) can't form complete sentences.

The White Sox radio shit show starts back up tomorrow. Indeed, this will be a nice alternative.

To Beardown's point - I've noticed that the last couple of days on WGN 720 that Dave Eanet will end each sports cast with a tease/promo for 87.7 during Cochran's (snoozefest) Morning Show.

He's been previewing the upcoming guests and what times they would be on the air... twice an hour.

Eanet was really hawking The Kap & Haugh Show this morning. The machine is churning...

Yup. The Game will be a powerhouse when they move to a real frequency next year. Some of the guys who are on the air here today are just keeping the seats warm for a few big name sports radio hosts.

Mac's been flirting with 'GN for years. If SCR thinks they can replace him with Goff, they are even dumber than I figured. And I already have them figured for pretty dumb!

Well that seals it then. Your prognostication skills have proven to be uncanny.

Dont think it takes a radio expert to figure out the long term plan, but why not take some calls now?? It is how the Score was built. Not by listening to 5 guy imitate Dan Bernstein

Its almost as if The Game doesn't really care yet...like its just practice until they get the real frequency. I do agree that taking more calls would be good for the station.

Maybe no one is calling because no one is listening.

I have called twice. Both times now, told they take "Plenty" of calls, but not taking calls now.

Must every sports show take calls? If I want bad sports thoughts, I'll be fine just listening to the guys they pay to make them.

Goff would be better than what Mac and Speigs, but they need to get him a good co-host to bounce off of.

If it's anything like the Abbatacola and Goff show experiment was, they might want to rethink things, and quickly.

but hey from what i can gather today, no one didn't even listen to sports talk before they heard the game but once the game showed up they had their radio/steam locked all day long!

at least that's what most of the callers over the last ~30+ mins have said

seriously where the fuck do these people come from?
