So you don't care for Speigs? I never really disliked him. He can crack jokes
and knows baseball. The Score could do worse.

I think Mac needs a guy who isn't an asskissing ex-boyquarium type who owes their career to Mac. If he moves to THE GAME, he shouldn't partner up with Finfer. That will just make him lazy and let him operate in a comfort zone. Finfer, too. Finji sucks but it's better for him to be on his own, away from daddy Mac.

Why would they pay for Spiegs? Do you really consider this even a potential outcome? Please prune this thread -- too stupid for the board.

I thought Princess Candyvagina has a 3 year contract that he signed last summer. He can stay right where he is so i can easily avoid him. He has been on Kap's roundtable before and I doubt he is pining for the quarter ton guy who can't button his smock right to be on at his station.

I think some undertones to Q Bov have arisen in this and some other threads.

I think Matt would be an excellent night host. His national baseball coverage alone would easily fill up shows seven months of the year.

He just needs to brush up a little so he knows who MVP winners like Zoilo Versalles are.

No, but they're obviously his adopted Chicago team. He has absolutely no use for the White Sox.

Oh for god's sake. What's worse than a Red Sox fan who isn't even from Boston? I bet he was a Mets fan, thus anti-Yankees, pro Red Sox, BUT went in the closet when he came to Chicago thinking it would hurt his career being a Mets fan in a Cubs town.

His father is a Red Sox fan. He went to school in Boston. There's a lot criticize Spiegs about but his love of baseball and fandom isn't one of them.

Then he's a Red Sox fan, OK? He's not a Cubs fan. Don't pretend to be one.

Being a Cubs fan is something 99% of fans wish they could be. I don't blame him.

If you can look yourself in the mirror and say "I LOVE THE CUBS!" without wanting to put your fist through the mirror, more power to you!

White Sox hate, cubs Bias in the media, while I agree it exists, it also does so for some reasons the Sox never take responsibility for. Kasper comes out to talk True D. Imagine Stone, Hawk? Farmio?DJ? coming on to talk True D? or anything else? this is just an example...the pop culture references by len during a broadcast and even DeShaies tries, go a long way

To argue with me that your media guys arent your top salespeople, is foolish and puts a team in denial. And if any team should know the value of losing such a front man and the value of gaining one, its the cubs and the Sox...but I am sure some experts here will tell me it has no relevance to popularity at all..... OK, let me just agree in advance with those who I am sure will disagree with me on this.

JORR is on the right track though. If you can't name the starting lineups of the 83 Sox and 84 Cubs, you have no bizness talking about Chicago baseball on a Chicago radio station. I don't care if you are a big passionate baseball fan.

I don't think I remember the 83 Sox. I remember some. I'll try from memory.

CF is on the tip of my tongue.

That the Time Warner Cable SportsNet that has the Dodgers is separate from the Time Warner Cable SportsNet that has the Lakers is kind of obscene.

I just can't. This is a guy who is supposed to be a baseball specialist on an all sports radio station.

In the old days when the Score was "fans talking to fans" it wouldn't have bothered me. I'm sure North might not know who Versalles was. But I wouldn't expect him to.

The station decided to change the dynamic from just idiot fans getting stupidly passionate to this Really. Smart. Radio. that we have today. That being the case, I can't excuse that station's top baseball guy having no clue who an MVP shortstop was.

North would know anything from say 1965 forward.

That may explain how he could say something as dumb as "Jim Brown isn't in the team picture of the greatest running backs." I think Brown was finishing up in '65.
