Why wasn't he one of the first guys they picked up? I wonder if his contract prohibits him from jumping ship. Seemed like an obvious choice. Not sure if there is anyone in Chicago as well rounded as him on any sports radio station.

He definitely has a lot of company when it comes to that. Mac is about 4'11" and weighs 250.

But.....back to topic.....I wish Hood was back on the Score or on the new station. It kills me that Leary is still on the Score and Hoody isn't.

Not interested sign is out for Hood. Truth be told , Id take Leery over him.

Holmes is by far the worst host in Chicago and probably the country.

That never hurt Mac and a bunch of lesser hosts.

Hood comes off very churlish ( code word for upitty ? ) everytime I hear him. Doesn't seem very interested in callers with dissenting options and often just dismisses them for disagreeing. Sorry he got passed over but a guy in his position might want to go with the be more likable route than what he's been doing.

Mac and Mully are probably the only hosst that don't do the same thing though. Everyone else is the same or worse. Even Holmes and he's an idiot when it comes to sports.

I think part of my love for Hoody is being stuck with that jackass Telander. I know Hood didn't handle it well but that should have never happened to begin with.

I don't catch hood often, it seems like his airtime is real sporadic ...i don't hear him being a prick like Bernstein to callers. imo he is the best host in town, mac is 2nd...rosenbloom 3

I will assume anyone that has an "On air" contract cant leave. I mean they can leave, they wont be paid and they cant go on the air anywhere else until their deal runs out anywhere else.

Thats why I think guys like Quigs and Griff are gone as soon as a move is made.

Jurko, Mac and Finfer? Even though I think Jurk may have just re-upped for 2 years this past summer.

If they go after Waddle, uugghhhh

Silvy would be a GREAT pull!

I know he was on vacation, but have no idea if he is back, but I really do feel the station is better when he isnt around.

But a j hood show would be great. Gotta leave him Solo, he is too much for the kids to play with

If they get Silvy ESPN might as well pack up shop.

Post subject:  Re: Hood

I don't think it's a contract issue with Hood and ESPN 1000. Remember, he left for Mike North's webio and ESPN 1000 said don't let the door hit you in the ass. Based on recent pictures of Hood, the door at the Score probably said, "Please, for the love of God, don't let me hit you. I will lose and lose bad."

I also think because he's a "part-timer" he doesn't have a contract like the full-timers do. I think he just gets paid per shift.

When Hood's phone wasn't ringing, that was THE GAME not calling.

Connor probably didn't have a contract at THE SCORE either. Cuz he was at "THE SCORE" and the next day he's on "THE GAME".

Post subject:  Re: Hood

HOOD was 'rehired" by ESPN, so someone thought he was OK.

And I really do think Mac and Mully are much better team players than people think.

What made Hood a bad team player was literally putting down Telander every single day.

They would just go more nationally focused .... and given the talent pool dilution they might not do all too terribly.

The more interesting tn Beardown's post is Connor and Finji. WTF, kind of deal did they not have to go somewhere else the next day?

Author:  Beardown [ Thu Feb 27, 2014 8:15 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: Hood

Well, Finji was a producer, they don't have contracts.

Connor was just fit in where ever they could find things for him. Weekends shows/update boy for different shows/ host the show after Larry sometimes/sometimes a reporter.

I also think with Bruce at THE SCORE, they weren't gonna Connor to cover baseball games.

You apparently haven't listened to sports radio in other cities. I'm in Minneapolis now & was in Wisconsin yesterday & I heard some God awful spots radio guys a lot worse than Loho.

I believe there is another board to discuss this type of thing
