He joins drinky. Sounds better than I've ever heard him. This is really what he should do now if he's not retiring soon. It gets him away from Dan and other sports.

Baseball is Terry's forte.

holy shit this is appointment listening..... and the stream is playing some generic music on a ~30sec loop. go figure!

so you figure terry has gotta be doing this from home via his ISDN line, right? if so this is definitely the ideal gig for him..... get him away from beerstain so he doesnt have to sit around rubber-stamping everything dan says with a side of the "zany comedy" we've come to expect from terry.... give him a show focusing on the one and only sport he really gives a toss about, and then HEY you've got something.

rozner and terry could be good.... hell durr speagol and terry would be good. but it's hard to unseat the station's resident cubs reporter/expert in amattacola.

still tho thumbs up and a half for this cuz hearing that terry's doing "hit and ralph" (i hope to god he mentions that name today) means i'm tuning in!* --- and wow, the stream is fixed so i can literally use tunein to tune in!

bob nightengale is on the show now..... so what's the chance terry brings up that old article he wrote in defense of dusty (all the racist letters to him from the cubs fans that he saved in a plastic bag) that him and dan rode the guy HARD about years ago?

oh yeah, that's right..... nobody on the score will ever stick up for us and be "the voice of the fans" like that. they're just so tickled to have bob nightengale on that he'll get a free pass for being dusty's media-lapdog that goes out and writes puff-pieces that disseminate the "dusty baker talking points" even tho i swear terry was the one really on the muscle about how bob nightengale is a tool/idiot/POS/moron/etc for being dusty's media lapdog.

we were never at war with eurasia. duh.

I thought I was hearing things at 7 this morning when they said Terry would be on. I hate baseball and this is good.

Good to hear Terry engaged and seemingly having a good time.

I'm always amused at "free pass" comments. You know, when you finished scorching everyone who listeners think ought to be scorched, guess how many people they'll get for interviews? That's right: none.

Confrontational radio is the same as Scorched Earth radio.

Terry needs to get away from Bernstein.

I enjoyed it, but man you guys are going way over the top on how good it was.......I had fun remembering the old days of The Score, and trying to imagine the last time Terry 'worked' a SAT or SUN, but it's not Terry suddenly snapped back to 1995 form or something. Anyone is better when Bernstein isn't sitting next to him (berating people with smarm, snark, and condescension), and this was good, but far from some sort of radio nirvana.

Funny how could Terry be good on Hit and Run when he never watches sports....

The caveat was always that he watches SOME baseball. You know that.

Geez, you aren't even happy when we try to give the guy a compliment. It was nice to hear him even sound like he gave a shit.

I heard the whole show today while stacking hay in the barn (not a euphemism, unfortunately). Terry was alert and engaged throughout, had clear opinions and actually sounded like he enjoyed the show. I have never been a B&B fan, but was impressed by the show today. Wish I would have listened back in the glory days

sounded great

I think this would be an excellent way to promote the station to weekend listeners. Each of the weekday hosts should pull a well publicized weekend shift every few months.

Yeah this was a surprisingly easy and decent listen. Had it on in the garage when I was doing yard work. Might this be a test run for when TB eventually stops doing the M-F gig?

In all likelihood he watches way less games than Bernstein, Speigel, Mully, Hanley etc

Not sure why this is such an issue

did terry actually have coherent concise thoughts that were based on his observations?

I don't get the 'sounded great' or he's much better in this format. I heard a few minutes of it, and he sounds the same as he does during the week. Maybe it's because he didn't tell Bernstein that's he's right all show?
